Black Bear Diner seems like a popular spot, but luckily we were seated quickly. The service was good – our server was attentive and friendly. However, the food we had was on the salty side. It's possible this was a one-time thing, but it's worth mentioning.

GOOD LITTLE DINNERBlack Bear diner in Vacaville is a good spot to eat, there's not many other places in Vacaville, and Black Bear Diner is definitely one of the best in this city, which by the way vaca in Portuguese means cow, so the name of this town is cowville hahaha ?Back to what it matters ( Black Bear Diner) has well done decorations and a few teddy bear you can purchase.Definitely try their banana cream pie, it's good

After my husband and I were seated and given water, we waited at least 10 minutes for our server to take our order (yes, I timed it). We had to get up and find her. But after that, she was pretty attentive and friendly. Food was served pretty quickly.

The quality and popularity of this restaurant are evident in how busy it was for a late breakfast. A hearty quality meal was served up by a very friendly and courteous staff to our party of 5.

We were in on Easter Sunday. They were as busy as can be, and they still took great care of us, and our food was great.

Our server was slow taking our order. When she finally brought out our food, it was warm, not hot. This leads me to believe she let it sit while she was chatting with her coworkers behind the wall instead of providing service to her tables. The restaurant was not busy Tues mid-morning. There was no excuse for the slow service.

Service was good but the food was lacking. Biscuits were hard and dry. I felt like they were day old biscuits. We won't be back.

Service was good and they were prompt on seating us. Overall food not good at all. We had biscuits and gravy and both were overcooked and hard like rocks. I had a side of hash browns that were raw and just bad. Our server was good but overall not great

I honestly love this place and it brings back some memories so I might be biased. The food is usually pretty good but today our sandwich was too runny and had tomatoes when we asked for none. Our server was busy and took a while to get to our table, which is understandable. Overall this place is pretty good if you're looking for something atmospheric and a bit filling
