If you’re a vegan with a serious sweet tooth, then you absolutely have to check out Vio’s Pastries in downtown Vacaville. This place is a hidden gym for anyone craving a unique and flavorful donut experience and trust me. It’s worth a short drive off interstate 80 whether you’re local or just passing through. First off, let’s talk about the donuts. They’re amazing the flavors here are playful, creative, and ever-changing. The standout flavors I’ve seen at the shop include Maple, Mexican chocolate, regular chocolate, lemon, strawberry, Earl Grey, red velvet, blueberry, and passionfruit. Each flavor is distinct with a bold yet balanced sweetness that never feels overwhelming. The donuts themselves have a cake like texture that’s both soft and perfectly moist. And the icing? It’s super sweet, but never too overpowering. Perfectly complementing the donut without taking away from the unique flavors in each one. Each time I visit, there’s something new to try so you never know what delicious creation will be waiting for you. But really stands out for me is that these donuts use a tofu based batter that gives them a delightful richness and texture. I honestly don’t know how they do it, but every vegan donut here feels like a treat made just for ā€œusā€. There’s none of that dry crumbly texture that often plagues vegan pastries. It’s perfection in every bite. If you’re lucky, you might even get to try their vegan cronuts. Yes you read that right, vegan cronuts! These beauties are a new addition to their lineup and they are fantastic. Filled with decadent chocolate ganache or berry jelly infusion, these cronuts are flaky, light and indulgent like something straight out of a pastry shop in Paris. Disclaimer… i’ve never been to Paris. I was lucky enough to the Cronuts before they were available to the general public and let me tell you I felt like one of the chosen ones. While Cronuts aren’t always available when they are, treat yourself! In addition to their donuts, they also offer affordable mini cakes. Perfect size to share on the patio with a coffee, and a freind. The shop has a welcoming vibe, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is extremely friendly. They offer a stamp card and you can also find them in Bay Area farmers markets or on Instagram @viopastry. I only give out five stars to places that are fully vegan. So I hate only giving them 4 stars. Injoy! Updated from previous review on 2025-03-15

Olive oil cake is AMAZING

🄳 It's great to see so many vegan options but the two pastries I tried were ā˜¹ļø I could only taste white flour and sugar. SO much sugar and none of the flavor it was supposed to be. šŸ˜ One small piece and I was done. My husband loves them tho'. He loves sugary things. He's tried 3 flavors plus ate the rest of mine (not all at once šŸ™‚). We didn't try the donuts. Maybe next time.

I met Vio the owner this morning, she was very welcoming from the get-go. I was looking for gluten-free and vegan options for the staffs at our office and she was super helpful and telling me which ones were going to be my best options and which ones my staff would like the most. After bringing the pastries to the office, our staff loved it and couldn’t believe that some of them were gluten-free and vegan. Super excited to have a pastry shop like this in town. We’ve been there a handful of times and experience has been phenomenal every time. Thanks VIO!!!

We discovered these donuts at the outer Sunset farmers market and love them so much! We get them anytime we go to the market (and are part of a long line of people who want them). We even love them so much that we got them as our wedding dessert for our elopement. All the flavors are incredible -- including the vegan ones. And the owner is the sweetest.

Over-priced and quality is just not there. 6$ for a pastry, 4.25$ for a donut. Not worth it, and I will not go back there again.

First time here unfortunately.
Not sure how this place got fake "high ratings". ?
Nothing "handcrafted" about this place so don't be fooled.
Donuts were overpriced, dry and not good had to toss into the trash after one bite.
I definitely know the difference what a real good old fashioned bakery style donut taste like and this is not it.
Should have gone to Pure Grain Bakery nearby for a better choice and selection.
Will never be back again! ??

Amazing selection of pastries — I can’t believe it took me so long to come here!!

Plenty of clean spacious seating.

I wanted to love this place so much more. The donuts are good but not anything I'd go out of my way for. The icing on the lemon especially tasted very artificial. The donuts were well done almost crispy outside and soft cake inside. (Which is preferred to the over processed alternative) They felt like healthy donuts which is a vibe.

Garlic milk bread was warm and delicious. Donuts are made with churro dough, very good

Had a yummy lemon vegan donut. They also had pineapple guava and Mexican chocolate donuts when I visited. Great taste, texture and size. Donut was soft inside, nice crunchy outside, with a nice ratio of a vanilla lemon glaze. Also enjoyed an oat Chai latte, which they don't sweeten and was slightly spicey and smooth. 5 stars for both the drinks and donut. Two tables outside and about 5 inside with plenty of room to sit and chill.
