The food is delicious here!!!! We tried the arroz amarillo, chicken empanadas, ensalada de aguacate, pechuga de pollo empanizada con mojo. Yuuuummmmm ?way better than the last Cuban place we went to. Oh my goddess the rice and black beans were perfection!!This place is really, really good. You can tell they use quality ingredients and really care about taste and presentation. I love the decor with paintings of Cuba and Orisas ?

Food was great most times when we were there. This time, shrimp was a bit overcooked but very tasty.

Alfonso and the other staff are always so friendly and helpful. It's a hidden gem for sure with a good variety of dishes to choose from. And the portions are big so you will definitely leave feeling full!

I would recommend the ropa vieja! Super tender and excellent flavor. The beans, rice, and plantains are perfectly cooked to compliment this dish. The service was quick. I would like to mention the hot sauce is VERY SPICY so proceed with caution.

Giving it 2 stars because the food presentation was good, however this place needs training in customer service. We stumbled upon this restaurant since we were looking for something new to try, my aunt was visiting from out of town and wanted to treat her to dinner. Upon arriving we noticed it's a small place and there was only one couple eating in. The guy that works there acknowledged us and told us to sit anywhere so we picked our table and waited quite a bit before we got the menus. He came back and took our orders, they do not offer fountain drinks. Everything is bottled and for non carbonated drinks your choice is jamaica (at least this was the only option offered the night we went). For food we ordered the chicken empanadas, salmon, bistec sandwich, arroz con pollo and carne con papas. Overall, the food had good taste, good presentation and good portions. At the end we ended ordering the flan for dessert. He brought 4 spoons, we finished, paid and left. This is when things went sour, we were getting in the car when the guy came running out asking for 2 spoons. We were confused as we obviously would not take anything and said that he only has 2 out of the 4 spoons he put on the table. And asked if we didn't put them in our bag that had to go since that is what "other people have done in the past". Towards the end he was taking the plates and anything that was not being used. So we told him this and asked if he checked the kitchen. We felt humiliated by the accusation of taking 2 spoons. He let us get in the car and said that he would go back to check. Once we left we called the restaurant to ask if he had found the missing spoon because the way he handled it was rude and accusatory. Even if they were to be really lost, I hardly think the restaurant will go out of business. Later he called back and left a message trying to apologize because the spoons were in fact in the kitchen with the other plates he had taken back. However, the accusation and poor handling of the situation had already been made. He turned a family dinner into an unpleasant evening. All because he decided to questioned us, rather than check the kitchen. I suggest if you want to try this place to make a to go order because they are way behind in customer service care. We spent close to $160 plus a good tip, for them to indirectly call us thieves. I will NOT be coming back.

The best Cuban sandwich in L.A. I love everything about this place. I've been coming here for years and the quality has never suffered. I try to get in there as often as I can.

Alfonso the owner and his staff were magnificent. The Cuban dishes me and my mom ordered were out of this world. I highly recommend this place to eat.

I had their Cuban sandwich and it was horrible: the bread was soggy and even wet. The meats inside were NOT tasty, even I wondered if they were NOT fresh. No this place is not recommended at all

Great food for the price. Portions are tasty and something about the food feels homemade in the best way possible. Good luck finding parking though, good ole north Hollywood for you.
