It's a beautiful location and the food is good. Menu not quite what it was a couple years ago but lovely scenery.
Love the Christmas Dinner
I'm leaving 2 stars only because the waiter James was very nice and attentive otherwise it'd have left less..We ordered the margarita Flatbread and it was mediocre. It wasn't fully cooked and the tomatoes were unripe. My friend ordered the house salad with no feta and chicken but upon receiving the salad it was loaded with feta and the chicken was dry. I ordered the beet salad. It had 4 tiny unripe beets.. also was supposed to come with goat cheese and instead was covered in feta cheese.. I never write reviews but felt I could have saved $75 dollars and had better food at in and out..
After finding horrible queues at other breakfast places we found this place and only waited about 5 minutes to be seated which is fantastic for Ventura, CA! The menu was good and you have a lot to choose from. I ordered the Pancake special which unfortunately wasn't as good as I had expected. The pancakes were huge and too fluffy for me even though I'm usually a fan of fluffy american pancakes. The scrambled eggs were a bit of a joke to be honest. Not only did they not have any real flavour but there were not a lot of them and next to the huge pancakes you could have almost missed them completely. The bacon however was really nice.
The food was so sumptuous and not pricey. The room was too warm for a dance. I'm sure I'll rejoice here again!
These people know what they are doing. Despite covid and restaurant renovations (dining is in a temporary area) we enjoyed one of the best meals we have had in a long time - fine dining at an affordable price. We thought it was very reasonable for what we had (filet and pork chops plus appetizers). The hotel is a historic landmark and their menu is very traditional. The server chose an excellent wine for us so we didn’t try the cocktail menu even though it looked tempting. The steak was melt-in-your mouth perfection and everything else was delicious. When this hotel is fully renovated and the restaurant goes back into its normal spot it will be a very popular I think. Go now while there is no wait list. Sit outside if the weather permits. They don’t open every day so check ahead of time. 5 stars.
Waiter was informational and very pleasant. Restaurant was clean. Food was delicious and if in doubt, order the brussel sprouts, you won’t be disappointed.
Our first time and we will be back
Very good food and great service. Nice ocean view. #brusselsprouts
The view was beautiful but the actual restaurant is lacking. There was a weird smell -maybe sewage system. We moved to the outside patio area and it was better. Concrete floors in the patio area were dirty and needed a good scrubbing. I had the scallops. The actual scallops were tasty but the prosciutto with it was tough and I couldn't chew it. The croutons which are house made were flavorful but had sat too long and were mushy. It wasn't served really hot either so that didn't help. Service was very good.

We had a wonderful dinner and drinks for Labor Day weekend. James and the rest of the staff were outstanding in their service and attentiveness. Is it expensive? A bit. But the beautiful outdoor setting, combined with the excellent service and relaxed atmosphere - tables were able to sit and dine for hours with their party, allowing true European style dining - were worth it. Food was excellent - scallops were especially good, as was the chocolate lava cake. Drinks were likewise v good - the French gimlet was exceptional. Overall a wonderful evening on a holiday weekend.
Loved it. Service great. Food even better. Ivan was our server. Great guys hes an assist to the resturant. Definitely must try
The ocean view was beautiful! Our server Eric was very good and attended to our needs. Unfortunately my pork chop was dry. My vegetables needed seasoning. My husband had the chicken. His was good. For dessert he had the bread pudding. Though it was good, it was pricey for what he got. I would probably try them for breakfast but I won't be back for dinner.
Its ok I think the customer service could be better here and at the Pierpont inn. For the money I spend
