Awkward Pastry is one of my favorite local spot to get all things dessert. We got our wedding celebration cake from Jess and it was exactly what we wanted. Her style, flavors, and attention to detail made our cake turn out better than we could have hoped. It was also so easy to add some gluten free cupcakes to accommodate our guests who needed that option. Communication with the team at Awkward Pastry was so easy and they were very responsive. I had lots of questions throughout the process and they answered all of them. They even helped us go through how to cut the cake since we were hosting a backyard celebration.

Jess was one of the first vendors we booked for our wedding, as I am a major dessert person!! Not only was the cake she made for our wedding beautiful, it was also extraordinarily delicious! I’m only sad I just got in a few bites at the wedding, so will definitely need to go to the bakery for some more sweet treats. Jess and her team were super professional and easy to work with. Their creativity and talent is unmatched! We also got a variety of other desserts for our guests that were a major hit (especially the chocolate chip cookies!). Highly recommend and will definitely be placing an order soon! 😋

We gave Jess some broad parameters for the color/design, and she worked her magic! We got this beautiful blue and green painted cake with pops of gold and gorgeous flowers/succulents on top! The cake tasted amazing, probably the best I've ever had. The little lemon bars, brownies, and mini-cupcakes we got were also delicious! Everyone was so impressed and raved about the desserts. Working with Jess in advance was really easy, as was the delivery.

I am coming up on our year anniversary. We chose to have an intimate reception and it needed to find a cake vendor. I decided to try some cakes from Jessica at Awkward Pastry. One taste and I didn’t have to look any further. This is as my second marriage and I am no longer young. Because of this I didn’t want the cake to be the star of the reception, but a reflection of our love for each other and for our friends and family. I didn’t want a layered cake or over decorated. We wanted to be a minimal whimsical beauty that we can remember fondly. That is exactly what we got. Two separate cakes, one square and one round. Both white with fresh flowers adorned around each cake. There were many flavor choices to choose from and again, we wanted subtle flavors that everyone would savor and enjoy. The cakes did not disappoint. In fact, we didn’t have any cake to take home to enjoy later because there wasn’t any left when the reception was over.
I strongly recommend ordering a cake from Awkward Pastry for any big (or small) event. You will not be disappointed! Thanks Jessica and team!

And now I can’t stop dreaming about it!), the salty choco chip cookies are perfection, pumpkin cheesecake was incredible, and every single celebration cake I’ve ever ordered no matter flavors or decoration requests has far exceeded any basic human expectation.
