I went to a party over the weekend that was catered by Big Mann BBQ. The food was so good, and we were even able to take some extra food home with us. The tri tip is my favorite. We had it for dinner tonight and it still tastes so good days later.

Not impressed at all with this “bbq” spot, got the tri tip sandwich at surf rodeo and it was $25 and can’t not tip when I got my sandwich after being hungry and waiting I was very disappointed to find two of the thinnest slices of meat I’ve seen and a huge loaf of bread and a very small side of macaroni. I know food got more expensive but at least make it worth it. I would’ve been more full eating the bills I paid with for this meal. If seen out again I will definitely avoid this “bbq” spot

Food tastes good but the prices are sadly unaffordable. I paid $45 for 2 Tri tip plates and got 6 totally pieces of Tri tip and sides. Maybe my expectations are off and that’s just the cost of food. I don’t disparage Roger for trying to make a living but I will not order from here again.

Very professional staff and Roger is hilarious! You guys catered my baby shower at Marina Park in Ventura and set up was great on timing, easily accessible, and my guests enjoyed the variety you helped me pick out. I had some vegetarians to please and you picked out wonderful alternatives to add to our BBQ meat picks! The overall communication leading up to my event was great. Thank you for making my life a little less stressful during that time. I would definitely use again for future parties ?

Don't know how the food is....Never got the chance. Called and got a quote. When I called back a week later to book them to cater the event, I was hung up on. I immediately called back and had to leave a message. Decided to give them one more chance and called for a third time the next day, again left a message. I never got a call back. So why bother giving me a quote if you're not going to want to do the job. Maybe the food is good...not sure. But the poor business practices kept us from finding out. Reading the other reviews I guess it makes sense. Glad I didn't give them the business. Who even knows if they would have shown up?? Beware when you book with them. Maybe get something in writing.

Big Mann Roger and his crew stepped up and took on our wedding with less then 30 days notice. The food was amazing and the service outstanding. Roger went out of his way to ensure our guests were well fed and happy. I highly recommend Big Mann BBQ! You will not be disappointed!

Big Mann BBQ catered our wedding of about 110 people last weekend. Roger was friendly and accommodating during the planning process, including when we had to postpone due to COVID reasons. He also agreed to pick up and drop off event rentals for us, supply bartenders, and supply helpers for set up and clean up the reception hall the day of the event (all for additional fees).I thought the food was good and the bartenders were friendly and on top of it. He also accommodated my gluten sensitivity and a few other dietary restrictions with ease.However, Roger and his staff were supposed to arrive at 3 PM and, according to the day of coordinators, arrived at about 4 PM (which was consequential, since we had 2 hours to set everything up). This put extra strain on the coordinators to set up the reception hall and dinner was served about 45 minutes late. The reason for the delay was heavier-than-expected traffic during his ~30-mile commute. While I understand unexpected traffic happens, it was a holiday weekend with almost certain high traffic, and common sense would tell you to allot extra time for the commute to ensure a timely arrival. Roger shared he allotted almost the exact amount of time that his mapping app had predicted for the commute to Santa Barbara and didn’t leave extra time on top of that. The delay in and of itself was something I would have been able to get over - but when I asked for an explanation about the delay, there was an unapologetic air, no concessions were made, and I received a response of “I don’t know what I could have done differently.” This struck me, considering he should have anticipated the possibility of holiday traffic and left extra time. Period.In regard to the quality of the food, I was generally happy with the quality of food I received. However, I did get a couple of complaints of rude staff, cold fish, and no salt and pepper provided at dinner (I can only personally verify the no salt and pepper).The catering experience was somewhat of a mixed bag, and we had a wonderful wedding regardless!

I called numerous times and no answer. Finally after almost 4 hours I received a text saying there was a power outage so no power means no food. What?!? I replied why didn’t he tell me about this “power outage”sooner, like hours ago, Roger never responded. I don’t know how this place got such great reviews but my experience was disappointing and very discouraging, to say the least!
