Black Bear Diner Ventura

Almost left as soon as we walked in. Restaurant had a funky smell. Like dirty. The food was horrible. My friend’s roll was like a hockey puck, so hard. I had a chorizo burrito, no taste, tasted old. Got charged 7.99 for an orange juice that was NOT FRESH!! It cost me almost 60$ for BREAKFAST. That’s crazy for terrible food. The server was understanding, replaced the hockey puck. Not his fault but should have never been on the plate. The potatoes were cold. I was so upset but lesson learned!!! We will never go back, nor will WE ever refer to anyone!! K GLOVER

I treated my Mom to dinner and Scott was smiling their ready to meet and greet us, attend to us very perceptively, and we had a wonderful experience with our meal and his excellent service. We will be back and request him as our server!

This time I ordered the Reuben. What kind of meat was that? , because it sure was not corned beef. The meat looked and tasted old nothing like fresh corned beef. I was up all night getting sick. I've been to Black Bear Diners before and I was not served old meat in a sandwich. Then they rushed us to pay our bill and rushed us out. Last time I will ever come to this location. Who ever is managing or running this place needs to be trained as well as the chef putting out old meat in his sandwiches.

came fir bfast. 1 waiter working in a empty restaurant. Took 40 mins to order @45 per plate. Sorry guys you need to do better.
Side note , the food was good 4 stars on that but to wait well over 1 hour is silly.

WE had a wonderful dinner on Sunday night at Black Bear Diner. First time visit.
Everything was wonderful. Our server Scott was fantastic. Very hard worker. Restaurant was clean. Food was absolutely delicious. Amazing restaurant. Thank you so very. WE will be back.

Hoping we were just there on an off day...only a few diners, but most of the tables were dirty. Our server was very friendly, and commented that he had come in early to have a cup coffee, but had to start
working right away. I'm assuming they had multiple people not show up, as I only saw him and one other employee. My sister in laws order was wrong, my husband and I both had our food burnt - mine was not really even edible, my son's was good though.

Recommended dishes: Cinnamon French Toast

First time going. The big Bob burger was just horrible. It was the toughest piece of meat I've ever had, not too mention just a nasty flavor. I couldn't even eat one bite. My wife got the open face turkey. We sat for a few minutes and ended up eating elsewhere. We saved the French fries to feed the birds. The place was filthy, I won't be back. The pies in the window looked good though.

Out of the dozen Black Bear Diners in 4 western states, this is by far the best. Our sever, Scott, was fantastic as well.
