I regularly go to the Boatyard Pub for multiple reasons. It's the perfect location and vibe for a casual chill after working onbthe fishing boat all day/ week- I don't have to walk far to get to a place that often feels like Cheers. Everybody DOES know your name. The food is always good and I have yet to have a bad dish, with the taste and portion size being perfect for someone who is discerning and burns calories. The staff makes me feel like family... they ARE family. I don't drink anymore, but when I did, the drinks were poured well. The prices are at first glance may appear on the spendy side for such a casual atmosphere, but that's only at first glance, and once it's considered the portion size, the quality, the location, you really can't expect them to be lower. The Pub is dog friendly and will bring out water for your pooch and also have chicken and rice or steak and rice bowls that are dog healthy.
For breakfast, the huevos rancheros, the chicken fried steak and eggs, the burritos (there's some heft there), the omelets are all in my rotation. For lunch and dinner, try the parmesian beef tacos, the fish and chips, the steak. The clam chowder is the best in the harbor. My favorite appetizer is the balsamic glazed Brussels sprouts.

A pleasant suprise. We ordered the calamari, loaded potato skins and clam chowder from the Happy Hour menu. While the calamari portion was quite small, it was still good value as it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. It was served with a chipotle mayonaise/sauce and also some cocktail sauce. Chipotle was too overpowering for this delicate and tender dish; my only suggestion would be some salt on the lovely light batter.
As for the potato skins, the were more akin to a half-end baked potato with all the toppings; making less greasy; so that was a plus.
As for the chowder? It was pretty flavorsome, although a little gluppy.... but not bad!! Although the chowder was not on par with Lure's (thats had to beat).
The venue was pub-like in that it was dark and smelled of beer but the harborside location was fab.
Overall everything was fairly priced, service was good. I would definitely come back and try this place for dinner.

Boatyard is the go to spot in the harbor. Food is always delicious and one of my favorite things to get us the Ahi Poke. But not only is their food great but their drinks and staff are amazing. They even have live music many nights. If you haven't been, GO!

The patio was a great place for my dog to relax. It wasn’t crazy busy but the service was lacking somewhat. No drink refills and little follow-up. The chowder was thick and delicious. The Captain’s Combo was ample and tasty. Fish tacos were quite good. Will likely go back for the chowder!

Stopped by while walking from our hotel. Service was fast for both seating and getting our order. Food was good, but didn’t leave me excited.

We stopped by here about 6:30pm after a day trip to the Channel Islands on a weekday. It wasn’t crowded. We sat at the bar. The service was excellent. The food was really good. I had the Hawaiian Poke Bowl and my husband had the chowder and fish and chips. Both were excellent. Would definitely go back.

Beef tacos with parmasan cheese coated corn tortillas are delicious. Their garlic Freedom Fries are so good, and so is their Shepherd's Pie.
