I had my Birthday party at Buddys and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. It's a great space for a large group, everyone is free to order at the bar at their leisure. All of her wines are curated and thoughtfully sourced, most are small batch so it's definitely a place to try something new. I am also obsessed with the hammy jammy sandwich, definitely a must. If I am not feeling wine the beer selection is also great same with the N/A options. Perfect spot if you're looking for a nice atmosphere and have a larger group.

This is the exact kind of place Ventura needs. High quality wines, cool vibes and great staff. You can take any bottle to go or drink it there. The shelves are curated with all kinds of interesting goodies from around the globe. The pop up restaurant collabs never disappoint.

This is a new little spot on a hot section of Main Street in Midtown Ventura that has been gentrifying for the last few years. This has all the makings of the millennial hipster hangout . It's lovely enough on the inside, on one of the walls hang to baffling art pieces that I suppose are meant to evoke a sentiment of awe or inspiration. We missed the half hour by 20 some minutes but yet we're not offered the happy hour price. The server told us that the price for a glass of wine was $15. $15 effing dollars!? I literally said out loud that I could go to Vons right now and get 3 bottles of wine for that same price. And yes I get it, supposedly the wine is top-notch, but let me tell you what was served to me was a watered down sour grape juice that barely had any flavor at all. For $15 I could've bought me a sweet bag of weed which would last me the entire month. My recommendation is to avoid Buddy's in Main if you're at least partially sane.

Buddy's Wine Bar is a very quaint & unassuming neighborhood wine bar, but it's so special! I love that right when you walk in, there is a wall of artisanal goods, olive oils, snacks, ceramics, small gifts & as you continue on, there are various wines & on the wines are notes. Each explains its origins, type of wines, flavor notes & etc. It's a great way to shop for wine when you aren't familiar with wine or want to give a gift to someone & you already know what kinds of foods they prefer. And what's even nicer is they are arranged by "Reds", "Whites", "Rosé" & "Sparkling" & they even have "Staff Picks". Although this place is not at all huge, it's much bigger than it feels. Some tables in the front, then the bar & on the left towards the back are booths. Everyone was warm, friendly & very helpful. We were greeted by Jara as always, with her warm smile & she checked us in. The tables were beautifully decorated with her thoughtfully crafted Yelp souvenir candles & matches. I loved the warmth of Buddy's. The golden colored woods make the space inviting. And it doesn't feel rushed. Spicy Sisters Nepalese food was there. Think Indian flavors, but a big subdued, which I like. And even though they are called the Spicy Sisters, the food was not that spicy, or at least what I got wasn't. I was so happy that they had vegetarian/vegan veggie dumplings. I think they were filled with tofu & veggies, along with a blend of spices. I would've gladly eaten a whole bowl of that and some rice. It was yummy! We received a slice of this amazing Key Lime Pie from Skylar Pies... I gobbled that right up! We were also given a wine flight all by women owned wineries. All the wines were yummy. But I only had 3 of the 4. I really wanted to try the Rosè, but we had to drink the wines in a specific order, but I needed to leave by 7:15ish. I have to say, I was very impressed by Buddy's Wine Bar! I'm coming back & bringing friends.

Came on a rainy day as my friend was from out of town and wanted to try some wine. I had been wanting to come here since it opened and I wasn't disappointed at all. The inside is so cute and the service was welcoming and warm in such a cold day. I tried orange wine for the first time and had several rounds of it and even brought a bottle home.

Favorite place in Ventura! They have so many great wine options (to go or to enjoy there) as well as the most incredible sandwiches and cheese plates. Don't sleep on the hammy jammy sammy - it's sooo good. Perfect for lunch or dinner out on the town. The ambiance and decor is 10/10. It's the perfect mix of cozy and cool. The owner is the sweetest and most welcoming, typically behind the bar ready to greet you with a smile and a delicious wine recommendation. Buddy's is a not to be missed spot in Ventura which will undoubtedly become a weekly staple!

Buddy's Wine bar is the cool and effortless chick that we all want to get know and be friends with. She's dressed up, but she's also casual and effortless. Energy is warm and inviting.I love that the owner incorporated plants with warm lights and amazing art in the space. It feels open and inviting in somewhere I want to hang out in with my friends or family or even a date.Alexis is super friendly and super easy to talk to. You can tell that she cares so much about her business and she knows the ins and out of what she is offering to the community.I got their orange wine super smooth and bright and definitely easy to sip. Their bubbles are also nice and the adult lunch is definitely a delicious snack that is good enough to be shared.

A most welcome addition to midtown! Great staff, beautiful ambiance, delicious natural wines (and beer and non alcoholic offerings!), plus pies and snacks, what more could you ask for?We had a leisurely evening and enjoyed several glasses of the glassmaker orange wine. Buddy's is the perfect place to unwind, read a book, or catch up with friends! They also host fun events (hotdog contest?! Pie contest) and I hope to attend one soon. Plenty of parking in the surrounding residential neighborhood or you might get lucky with a spot right on main st.

I love Buddy's! It is exactly what Ventura needed. The place is adorable, from the logo to the decor. It perfect for a girls night or a romantic date. The employee's are super knowledgeable and I really love that they keep a rotating menu. That just shows that the owner cares and is constantly learning more. It's helped me try more natural wines and I've really enjoyed it! Gotta get the Adult Lunchable next time I'm in.I've recommended this place to so many people already and I cannot wait to go back!

Awesome little wine bar on Main St.Went with a friend on a Friday night for a few glasses of wine. The setting and mood was very nice and relaxed. We had a Red and an Orange. They have a good selection to choose from but our bartender Jeff helped us select a good Orange form Portugal and a Jumbo Times Red. Great choices. We also had a nice little snack. The Hammy Jammy Sammy was a good light pairing. I'm still thinking about the Jam tbhOverall great first experience! We'll be coming back and bringing a few more friends next time too!

A hidden gem in Ventura Alexis the owner is super nice and welcoming and very easy to talk to. Great space to hang out with friends and share stories over some good drinks. Food is great too. Can't wait to come back and enjoy this place more!

Stopped by for a lunchtime beer and had a great time. The service was prompt and the employees were friendly with great conversation. I ordered the Bread and Butter with the Adult Lunchable which were both delicious. Definitely going to come back again.

I really wanted to love this place. It’s cute and it has a nice aesthetic. But the wine was $15 a glass. When I asked about the wine, the girl had to look at the bottle and all she told us was “it’s from France” literally that’s all she could tell us (wow, so helpful). My partner and I both tried different reds since we were unfamiliar with what was listed and we didn’t love either of them. The last disappointment was the owner never once checked on us to see if we were satisfied or at the very least to speak with us. Even if I didn’t like the product, service makes all the difference and would keep me coming back. As much as I don’t want to go back, I will give them one more chance. Hopefully they’ll have improved their wine list, wine education, and service.
