An art deco diner with an upscale menu, an improbable combination of elements that you have to experience to believe. No counter seating but there are booths in their lovely outdoor patio. Set in what I think was originally one of Ventura's classic and charming pre-WW2 private homes, the interior has a French café seating feel, with waitstaff nimbly moving between tables happy to serve one and all. The meals are delicious.

Visited from out of town. Excellent garden ambiance, large breakfast menu. Food was excellent and staff was very friendly. Visit if you want a relaxing outdoor brekafast/meal experience.

This place used to be good, and now it's somehow better? The rotating menu doesn't really miss anywhere. I've even tried the Korean rice bowl breakfast and right down to the demi-glace, this place is right in stride with sort of above-the-fray approach to their dishes. The severs and bussers are all pros and the kitchen is very accommodating to any dietary restrictions and allergies. 10/10 would recommend for the bignets alone.

We almost didn't make it here, so glad we did! We had breakfast and it was so good! Started with the beignets. We've had the ones from Cafe du Monde, and while those are a little fluffier and lighter, these are perfectly good, especially with the caramel sauce. Our omelettes were filled to the brim, the au gratin potatoes were fabulous and a choice you NEVER see at breakfast, and the blueberry muffins were delectable.

If ever asked what my favorite sweet treat is… the maple bacon beignets specifically from Cafe nouveau will forever be at the top of my list. So delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, and the cafe itself is amazing with fascinating artwork and design features everywhere. Service is quick, polite, efficient and helpful. Jason is so phenomenal at his job, coffee refills are always timed well and he’s got menu knowledge to help you make a decision if you’re stuck between two delicious choices (or 5). Been here a fair few times now and will definitely be returning again.
