Plastic in my food at Cafe Nouveau and the owner made it worse.
We’ve visited Cafe Nouveau several times and always thought it was a cute spot with decent food. Unfortunately, this visit involved a serious food safety issue.
My eggs came out with a visible piece of blue plastic cooked into them. It was clearly noticeable. I immediately showed the waiter, and he handled it professionally, apologized, offered to remake the dish, and said he would show the owner and kitchen.
The problem was the owner’s response.
He walked past our table multiple times and never acknowledged the issue. The dish was not removed from the bill.
Only after we had already paid and were leaving did the owner approach us to ask if everything was good. When I explained it would have been appropriate to address the plastic earlier, he said he was “too busy” and claimed he was planning to discount it, after the bill had already been paid.
He then loudly insisted there was no plastic in front of other customers and even stated he “needed glasses” to see it. Instead of calmly resolving a food safety concern, he escalated the situation publicly.
Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What matters is how they are handled. At Cafe Nouveau, this was handled with avoidance and denial rather than accountability.
Because of the owner’s behavior, we won’t be returning.

A great menu full of interesting, well prepared food. We had a great server as well, a true professional. The only downside for us, is that that the inside dining areas are fairly small, the place seems like a home that was converted into a restaurant and the dining areas are in what used to be rooms in the house. Those rooms are mostly hard surfaces, glass windows, hard table tops, hard ceiling, so the noise level is pretty high. You could probably ask for a quiet table and find one if you were looking for a quieter experience. But overall, service was very crisp and attentive, food came out quickly, my friend had a delicious frittata with bacon, caramelized onions, and Gorgonzola cheese topped with an arugula salad. Really, really good.

Beyond excellent service and super food - we had breakfast. We were on the dog friendly patio where each table is a secluded nook. The nook also had a patio fire in the middle of the table, so cozy. We will repeat this experience next time we come through town.

Cafe Nuevo is a wonderful place to eat with nice friendly waiters and Fees Delicious food. The only thing slightly off is how the waiters are great but the one waitress paid no attention to my order this recently happened got it wrong. Otherwise it's great place to family. My favorite is The Salmon and vegetable bowl with Teryaki sauce. And their blueberry muffins are fantastic. Yum. My husband and I Loved this fabulous place with Tropical appeal inside and cozy outdoor dinning too! Veyong 5 stars to us!!

Wonderful service and lovely setting. Food was delicious, fresh, tasty. Best cup of restaurant coffee in ages! Parking is tricky...but well worth a little stroll.
This place is lovely! So many amazing unique choices! Every bite was delicious. Very professional and friendly service. Atmosphere was very comfortable. I want to come back and try the entire menu! The maple bacon beignets were divine and reason to come here on their own.

Amazing place! Great food! I just love the vibe of this place and the service is always outstanding! We usually end up in Jason's section and he is top notch at his profession in every way. Friendly, knowledgeable, and so fast! The patio has a unique and inviting charm to it and the inside is absolutely gorgeous. If you are going for breakfast, try their homemade biscuits and gravy. They are to die for! For lunch, the enchiladas are amazing! I highly recommend Cafe Nouveau. You won't be disappointed. Best restaurant around!

I went to this café with an open mind, despite knowing the workers used to work for Team Flare. I knew that they were out of jail because they were not involved in the actions of the organization and shouldn't be mistreated or judged because of who their parents were. I didn't bring up Team Flare because I knew that it would bring back bad memories.
I want to be clear: I do not condone or support Team Flare's actions. I merely think that Grisham and Griselle are not like the Team Flare that people usually think of. They are more than their parents' past actions. They are contributing members of society, making wonderful food for us to enjoy.
I got the Ember Roast. I don't usually like coffee, but Café Nouveau gave me a taste that I could enjoy! I'll always return to this place. It goes to show that anyone can be great and make people smile, no matter where their roots lie.
