we were walking around downtown Ventura, looking for somewhere quick to eat and came upon capricco. the service from begin to end was AMAZING. we even saw an employee run somebody’s salad down the block because the customer forgot it. food was hot and fresh especially the home made bread. will definitely be coming back for more!

Some things on the menu are quite excellent and many other things are good. Pizzas are tasty.
The service is always friendly and excellent and the atmosphere is casual and easy.
The Walnut and the Fig salads are very good.
Do NOT get the Tiramisu.

This used to be a classy place. Hostess dressed to the nines with a warm welcome. Waitress was 15yrs old or so? Sounded like an AI robot. No interaction with a homey feel. Food was marginal. I had fettuccine bolognese and it was in a soup of creamy tomato sauce that drowned the pasta. Little tiny bits of meat as if it was leftover from a stew. Risotto was bland and had chunks of cheese that was not described in the menu. Wife ordered veggie risotto and barely ate it. Had only the veggies which were cooked perfectly. No music playing although they have a sound system so zero ambiance. Not even a goodbye and thanks so much for coming in. Hostess looked like she maybe came from the laundry mat to help seat people. Used to be our favorite but never going back. It was like a corporation store, not a mom and pop as it was. Unfortunate.

We ordered to go for the crab stuffed pasta, that was good. We also ordered the calamari with an excellent marinara. The Calamari was ok , it came on a bed of very wilted lettuce.

Great food however, the server annoyed on minor things and walked away without waiting for us to order. Delicious!

A lot of restaurants are closed on Monday and Tuesday but luckily this lovely find was open and I treated my out-of-town guests to a delicious lunch!

Well it was my 25th wedding anniversary and usually that's a big celebration. So I called the restaurant and told them I have a service animal and she's about 5 lb and she has to sit on my lap because she's lying. The receptionist told me that's wonderful I said you have outdoor seating? She said no you can sit in here with your dog. I said thank you she's on my lap nobody will see her.
We arrive on the night of our anniversary, and the manager greets us there's nobody there, I tell him that I spoke to the receptionist about my dog and that's just to sit on my lap and he told me that I can't do that. I told him that I spoke to the receptionist and she okayed it. He said I'm the manager and I have the last say and you have to have your dog on the floor I said my dog is blind I told the receptionist that a few days ago when I called.
He said sorry, I'm the manager I'm the last word. We walked out and just about a block away was this wonderful restaurant called Cafe fiore and we went over there and they let me sit on a high table at the end table and they did not have any problem with my dog. There were more than accommodating, there was a full crowd in there, there was a great band playing and the food was very good. So lesson learned stay away from capriccio, I'm 100% Sicilian and I'm sure that there are food was not going to be good either. Especially when you walk in the restaurant and nobody's there during dinner time. I hope this manager reads this post and learns something.

For starters we got the trio, brucetta, calamari and shrimp. Of course the bread! I ordered eggplant Parmesan and the chicken parmesan, it was so much food we took it to go. Our waitress Amber was sweet and attentive too.
