I was very excited to find another deli in our area since our beloved Roxbury Deli closed its doors. My BF and I went for lunch on a Tuesday about 1:30/2:00. I ordered the 1/2 Roast Beef sandwich a salad. The sandwich came on an OLD roll The top brown coating of it was flaking off and the bread was falling apart so either it was old or had been in freezer too long. It was very dry. Inside was one and 1/2 pieces of roast beef - VERY WELL DONE. The whole thing was tasteless. I brought it home to see if I could make it taste ok, but even that didnt work as there was nothing to work with! My boyfriend's matzoh ball soup, however was delicious. After lunch, I pre-ordered some chopped liver for a party on Saturday, That didnt go well either -see my other review. very disappointing to say the least
This is your classic diner with all the favorite comfort foods you grew up with, including homemade pies. Servers are super friendly, attentive and efficient.
My go-to is the blackened chicken pasta (even tho the chicken isn't very blackened ??♀️). Remember blackened chicken pasta from Cheesecake Factory? This is better than that and less oily...Yummy Cajun spices on linguini pasta with just the right amount of heat. Love it!

Danny's is a great family-friendly spot to grab a meal and a Ventura institution. Their portions are large, the food always delicious, and the service attentive and friendly. The matzo ball soup rules, the corned beef sandwiches stacked tall, and the open-faced hot turkey sandwich is a personal favorite. Make sure to save room for dessert, their homemade pie selection is vast and all so delicious. They also have a happy hour now with some new appetizer selections, highly recommend the Taiwanese style popcorn chicken which was so tender and full of flavor.

A Ventura institution and for a good reason. Food is moderately priced and the quality is unparalleled. I can think if no other place in Ventura to get a traditional reuben sandwich, a real reuben not some fast food or chain restaurant crap with pathetic meat and chemical infused bread.
Enough reading, go get yourself a nice sandwich.

Got the ribeye it was cooked inconsistent, one side was med and the other well. Also got the shepherds pie, it was not like any shepherds pie I've ever had. There were huge chunks of bell pepper and onions and slices of onions in the mashed potatoes it got gummy. The gravy was wet probably from the frozen veggies they used. And the chicken noodle soup on the side had a black hair which I don't have. Overpriced for the experience.

I brought my sister from Texas to Danny's for breakfast. We had a delicious breakfast served by Trudie who was wonderful.
My sister mentioned that they need a place like Danny's where she lives!

I drove over 2 hrs to have lunch there. I'm in California for a visit and remembered what great food Danny's had years back before covid.
They didn't disappoint. The soup was delicious and the chicken sandwich was incredibly good. Try the éclairs or German chocolate cake. Yummy. Ask for a pickle or two. Service was very good and the workers were in great moods and always busy while we were there. I'll be back in September.
