There may be a better place for sushi in Ventura County, but I haven't found it. Of the MANY others I have tried, I always find myself back here. Top quality, across the board. Don't skip the USC roll or the albacore tetaki in any of its iterations. It's worth every penny! Auto-gratuity for party over 6 was clearly printed on the check, as well as addressed by the server to make sure we didn't tip twice.
Food and selection: outstanding. I brought my mother who doesn't do sushi and found many dishes to suit her palate.
Obviously it's all japanese; tempura, edamame, miso, etc. My only knock is the beef teriyaki was rather pedestrian. However even their salads (seaweed [comes gratis!] and green dressed with ginger dressing) were delectable.
Well worth the price if you have the budget. Can be noisy during peak times. Courteous and plentiful...

Local sushi spots will vary by location. I’m sure in California everyone has their place. This is mine. I’ve come in for lunch and dinner and usually try to sit at the bar if it’s open. It’s intimate and definitely a little slice of heaven. The sushi here is served fresh, fast, and furious. If they take a little longer for your meal to arrive it’s not because it’s slow.
