I live in Newbury Park, but grew up in Ventura. Every time I go to Ventura, I get a Pizza Chief pizza to take home. Why you say? Because it is far better than what Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks has to offer. In my opinion Pizza Chief is an iconic restaurant in Ventura. It was a shame the Pizza Chief in Mid -Town Ventura is gone but the location in East Ventura is keeping the faith of the original one(s). If you are looking for great pizza and atmosphere Pizza Chief is place to go!

Really good pizza and a fun experience with kids as they have a little arcade. Beer by the pitcher if that's your thing. Very cozy atmosphere with sports playing on the TVs.

Food, service and atmosphere is great! I just dont recommend the chicken topping. Looks and tastes like 10 day old dehydrated shredded rotisserie chicken. Hopefully that was a one time deal.
