Real choice to have a room temp bagged tortilla as your taco vessel, not a good one, just a choice. It’s hard to rate, the Brooklyn Sauce, cabbage slaw and sweet chili fire sauce all super good, but that was the best part. The grilled fish was dry and the tempura was over fried in bad oil. Overall, should have trusted the recent review referencing white people tacos, very much. Also glad I hit the happy hour, would not have been stoked paying full price for this

I make this stop every time I head through Ventura on the 101. The tacos are fantastic and the cheesy hardshells truly make the experience. I also love their cheescurds, which are fun thing to find outside the Midwest. Do your self a favor and order from the road if you want to save time. The staff are friendly, but orders consistently come up slowly and this place is popular so eating outside at a counter is the most likely dining scenario. If I had one actual critique, it is that they package everything to death in clear plastic shells. The amount of trash generated by a single order is troubling.

Charming shack. White peoples tacos. Not bad. Fish is great, but flour tortilla shell is not great
Great fish tacos and fries. While $7.50 seems a bit steep for a taco, the taco was big and fish was high quality.

Ordered fish tacos. Not one chunk of fish in it all cabbage. Maybe a spoon of mushy fish.
Ate one not very good threw the other away. Garbage. Won’t do that again
Very popular place, so expect a wait! But the tacos are worth it.

Was eager to see what the best taco in Ventura county might taste like and left Spencer McKenzie's just plain disappointed my Ahi Taco was over seared & bland. "Regret" not ordering their world famous fish taco, shame is never a good thing. However, the chips and salsa were decent and the staff was really sweet. LA tacos remain in the win column by A LOT!!!

This place is amazing! They say they are world famous and I can see why. The fish is so fresh and the burritos are giant. This is a casual little place with a to go window and little patio but there’s also an inside bar and seating in the back. You can see the kitchen from the bar and it’s immaculate! Don’t skip this place!
Kid-friendliness: This is a great place for kids.
