Food was great. I had the world famous fish tacos with tempura battered fish, and my husband had the Ahi steak burger. The tacos were large (I should have only ordered 1), filled with toppings and the fish was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Ahi burger was meaty and satisfying. Perfect place for a beer and seafood after a day at the beach.

I've been coming here for years now. I'd bring my friends and family during happy hour. Everything on the menu is amazing. You cant go wrong with the fish tacos or the burritos. Seafood is always fresh! I've only experienced great customer service.

I always get the grilled fish and shrimp burrito with avocado. Really good!
Plus their hot sauces are all different and unique. Some sweet. Some vinegary. Idk which one is my favorite. It’s literally what stand out to me the most.
I’ve been here dozens of times and literally only tried the seafood burrito

Did an online to go order of grilled fish tacos. Taco ingredients tasted fresh but flavor was bland. My order was not ready in the timeframe specified. I did not think to ask for napkins but there were none in the bag. Silverware would also have been nice but I don’t blame them for not including that in the bag. I’d go back if there were no other options for fresh tasting food but I’d ask for salsa or different sauce.

There should be an option for negative ratings for places like this. The server was rude to my hearing impaired family. Manager was the same way, so I guess it’s the culture here to be a jerk to your customers. On top of that, they all were talking about us in the kitchen where we could hear it. If you are reading this review, I HIGHLY suggest you find somewhere else to eat.

We had fish tacos and beer. Really enjoyed the sauce and the addition of bell peppers and the 3 kinds of hot sauces. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Ventura and a great experience!

If you’re a seafood taco lover, do yourself a favor and make the trip—no matter how far—to Spencer Makenzie’s Fish Company in Ventura, California. I’ve driven several hours more than once just to eat here, and every time it’s 100% worth it. The fish tacos are unreal—hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, super fresh, and packed with flavor, with just the right amount of crunch and spice. They’re the kind of tacos that ruin you for all others. But it’s not just the food that makes this place special. You can feel the family-oriented values the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and you can tell this is a family-run spot that takes pride in everything they do. Spencer Makenzie’s isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a destination. Whether you’re local or traveling from hours away like I do, this place is an absolute must-visit. Can’t wait for the next trip back to Ventura just for another bite!
