Took a random trip to Ventura for the first time and was in the mood for a crab boil and this place came up. The building both outside and inside made us a little hesitant but nonetheless we decided to take a risk and it was well worth it. My cousin and I ordered the star bag with mussels and clams and it came with a large amount of everything and we added dungeness crab. We got full house medium spice sauce. Great experience and great food overall!

This is my all time favorite restaurant!!! It is simply amazing. The best seafood boil I have ever tried and I've tried more than a handful of them. It is on its own league. You should get the Blue Star combo: 1 lbs of whole shrimp 1 lbs of peeled headless shrimp 1 lbs black mussels 2 lbs green mussels Full house mild Yum, yum, yum! I dare you to try it and not become addicted to it as I am!

Tried to go this place twice and it was terribly ran. The first time they closed 30 minutes early and wouldn't allow us to go in and eat and the second time they only allowed take out after 8 pm when they closed at 10 o'clock. Absolutely ridiculous!! Terribly ran I don't understand how they have a consistent 5 star review when they do stuff like this.

A lot of crab boil places use seafood that's clearly been through a long cycle of freezing and thawing. The crab/shrimp/fish here is incredibly fresh and delicious. I ate the biggest king crab leg I've ever seen here, and for that I am so, so grateful.

Great food and service. Crab is well priced. Employees don't bother you when your eating.

What a hidden gem! Great food and service. We had the Star Bucket with mild heat and the house mix, it was delicious! It was pretty empty for a Friday night so I hope business picks up!

Was in the area and craving seafood so decided to try this out based on reviews. It's a older building in need of some TLC; even when you walk in it's weird because it looked like half the space is unused and there's an old setup still there with a large Mongolian barbecue grill. We were greeted and seated quickly. Menu had plenty of seafood options. We ordered a pound of shrimp with all spices medium heat, a pound of clams, a pound of crawfish and a side of rice. They set us up with a bib, gloves, bucket for shells, a little cup with salt and pepper and some limes. The seafood was really good. The shrimp was large and cooked perfectly (not overdone and easy to peel) and the flavor of the sauce was great. The lime was a nice touch. I haven't tried that before (usually it's lemon) but it complemented the seafood and sauce well. Clams and crawfish were good too. I was hesitant to try the crawfish but it surprisingly wasn't too difficult to open and tasted pretty good. The shrimp still is the best bang for your buck. The place doesn't look like much but if you take a chance on the food, you'll leave with a happy belly.

We went on a date night and I felt as though it was very overpriced. We spent $65 for 4 crab legs. We also got a bag of shrimp that either had freezer burned or was over cooked because some were mushy. We could have rated at a nice upscale restaurant for what we paid at star crab. We both left hungry and finished our date at brophy bros where we should have just went to begin with.

My wife and I went on a Saturday night and were a bit worried when we saw it was largely empty. However, the service was great and the food came out extremely fast (like 5 minutes after we ordered). Shrimp seasoning was great, they tossed in more potatoes than I expected for a side order, and our order of Cajun fries was huge and delicious (highly recommend them). I have a high spice tolerance and found the medium to give enough heat without too much pain, while my wife enjoyed hers as mild. This definitely scratched the itch for my old go-to in the Bay Area (Boiling Crab) and will be back.

Great tasting shrimp boil and sauces. They have delicious seasoning to their dishes that pair well. I wish they were located a little closer to home. We don't mind making a special trip to have their boil. Nice looking restaurant as well and friendly service.
