Saturday dinner menu not as good as the prix fix menu during the week. My food was ok, husband did not care for the lamb burger.

I have visited The Cave twice, a week apart. The first time was for a wine pairing dinner, which we did with another couple. There were 5 courses (appetizer, salad, two entree courses, and dessert) and each dish was delicious. We decided to return a week later to see if it would be as good for just an ordinary night out. The restaurant was not too busy (it was a Tuesday) but each of the dishes we enjoyed was well prepared and very good. We ordered the Macadamia Crusted Salmon, a chicken special stuffed with goat cheese and spinach, and another chicken dish. The restaurant is attached to a wine shop, and if you don't want to sample wines by the ounce or order wine off the restaurant list, you can go into the shop and choose from literally hundreds of wines at all price points and then bring the bottle into the restaurant where they will serve the wine for a very minimal ($10) corkage fee. Done be put off by its location in an industrial park. This place is a gem! Inside it looks like a wine cave and they usually have some quiet live music at dinner time. This is definitely one of the better dinner spots in Ventura!

To be honest the only good part of our visit was Rachel. Rachel was polite, helpful, and delightful.This is my first time coming here since the change in ownership. I used to come here all the time and loved it.Zandra (?) took over and was incredibly rude and aggressive. The food we got was all bad, it used to be great. Pizza was bad. Miss the old risotto, this risotto was watery and bland. Crème brulee was cuddled and basically charcoaled.

The wines they had were so flavorful. It has a solid clashing flavor. The spot was so agreeable and the climate was great. The specialists is so inviting and obliging. This spot is too wonderful to even think about making some pleasant memories.

Lots of great beers, a very high end liquor, as well as your normal brands, many great brands of wine from France, California, New Zealand, Australia, and Spain and Germany even. They also sell wine glasses, decanters and Christal. They are helpful and curious to their customers and plenty of parking ?

We arrived without reservations and shared a large table inside the room. I appreciated the flexibility, quick, cheerful, and knowledgeable service. You can have wines by the glass, or you browse the wine room and choose a bottle yourself. We will come back and recommend it to my friends and family!
