I went Wine tasting, the the Wine was excellent, and stuff wonderful. I'm a member of the Wine club. AND, Yes, loved the Lobster dinner. Lots of love
This location has a tasting room, and an event room. Also there's a spiritual retreat. Monks help pick the grapes, and Aimee is the head wine maker. This winery won Winery of the year in the California competition in 2024.
This beautiful and scenic winery is a must stop when visiting the Chico, CA area. They have delicious wines offered for tasting and purchase in the winery tasting room. Thank you, Ben! Many of the grapes used are grown on site. The abbey and vineyards hold a prominent place in US history, all of which you can learn about during an entertaining tour with the engaging Brother Luis Cortez. After the tour, strolling the well kept grounds and visiting the monastic buildings and gift shop was a peaceful break from busy urban centers.
Sweet little church and cute winery. Very historic and beautiful location.
Good wine at a fair price.
This is such a wonderful place. Full of calmness and history. The wines are extraordinary and very reasonably priced.
An unexpectedly amazing time in an out-of-the-way winery. We went with low expectations, but the bar has now been set so high - beyond reach. Thank you, Matt (et al), for the history and wine education. Most especially to the brothers for all you do. The winery is wonderful, but the church is also spectacular. Don't miss any of it! Take your time and drink it all in.
Their wines get better and better! Congratulations on California Winery of the Year!!
We just opened a bottle of the Moschofilero 2023. Absolutely delicious! We love all the wines that come from this winery!

Their knowledge added depth to our tasting experience, enhancing our appreciation for our sampled wines.New Clairvaux Vineyard boasts a diverse selection of reds and whites, catering to various palates. As someone who typically leans towards red wines, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of their white wines. I was so impressed that I ended up purchasing two bottles to enjoy later.Beyond the exquisite wines, the New Clairvaux Vineyard has a rich history that adds a layer of intrigue to the tasting experience. Founded on the grounds of a historic monastery, the vineyard's roots trace back to the 12th century, when the monks first began cultivating grapes in this sacred setting. Today, that legacy lives on as the vineyard continues producing unparalleled wines steeped in tradition and craftsmanship. Our visit to New Clairvaux Vineyard left a lasting impression, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow wine enthusiasts. Nice surprise, vertical wine tasting. Syrah 2017 - 2021.
This winery and monastery is such a gem! No need to drive Napa, this wine is great and the tasting is only $10! We walked with 3 extra bottles and look forward to returning in the near future.
First, the place is a part of California history and have great little exhibits. Second, the winery has a wine club that is super flexible and provides you and a friend with free tastings (typically 5 pours), finally and most importantly, the wine is delicious, organic, and the grapes have been blessed and harvested by the monks who live there!
