Such a charming historic place that just needs to be ran with a bit more love. Was so excited for my first time in the little town of Washington. Booked the grand suite for myself as a solo traveler--the veiw is amazing but that is about it. Upon arrival the greeting was less than welcoming. And as a solo female traveler, the vibes are everything! Right off the bat mine were ruined by the extremely rude bar tender. I arrived on a hot summer day to a bartender who seemed annoyed just at my arrival. For some reason she didnt know how to work the online reservation system and left me awkwardly waiting as she got more pissed off trying to figure it out. Might I add it was a triple digit summer day and she didnt even offer me a glass of water while I waited, just made me feel bad and uncomfortable for even being there. Luckily, there was the sweetest old man sitting at the bar at the time and he must have picked up on my disappointment as I sat there because he offered to help and said he used to work there! It made me wish he still did because he made me feel more welcome and knew how to run things way better than the mean bartender lady. Finally, after figuring out the online reservation part when time came for room keys, the bar tender had no idea where the keys were. This only again made her mad and annoyed at my presence. Finally she called someone for help, who I assumed to he the owner who brought a set of keys. FINALLY get into my room and the first thing I noticed was the smell!! Pretty sure it was mold coming from the bathroom or entire place. The room was not cleaned thoughtfully (for example; there were nasty, dirty, USED q-tips left out on my bathroom sink that were somehow overlooked?!) and made me question if they even have housekeepers or have cleaned the place since being spared of being condemned. The river views are the only great thing to mention. What a weird experience at the washington hotel, don't think I'll ever go back.

Historical hotel with professional staff. Offers a restaurant and friendly tavern. Spectacular view of the river.

Restaurant BLAT sandwich and orange soda combo was delicious and the dude was very nice, I will be dreaming of the sandwich until I go back. Cute little area with outdoor seating available

Deafening music going past midnight? This place clearly does not welcome tourists, and is not shy about it. Stay away if you want to get any rest.

Love it here! The character is what defines this place. Hit food is always served.

I love the location and the historic ness of the building. It’s in need of repairs but the people are friendly & prices not too high. We just had drinks & sat outside enjoying the beautiful River & mountains. The grounds are uniquely landscaped and there’s nice rock stairs down almost to the waters edge. I can’t review the food or rooms. I’d probably stay overnight or longer if they allowed dogs.

We love the Washington Hotel! So rich with history, and just the right amount of quirky. Catch some music by the river on the back porch - it's heaven!

The owners are extremely friendly. It’s a beautiful old hotel and restaurant that sits along the river. It’s a walk back into history. Great way to spend the weekend and there is usually always something going on during the weekends and holidays.

Food was mediocre. It tasted fine, not something to write home about. It saved us when we didn't feel like cooking at our camp site.Just keep in mind, this is small town restaurants so don't expect fast service. Walk in and take out only, nothing is in a rush so be there to wait.Bar is next door and great friendly service. Cash only, there is a ATM in the front of the hotel.
