Great atmosphere, super cozy and family friendly. The staff always greets you with a smile and treats you like family. Best place to enjoy an afternoon beer specially when they have live music witch is usually Fri/Sat. Highly recommended their Hazys or ask for their blend of the week

Been to hundreds of breweries in my travels and over the years, my preferences and tastes have changed. So, if you’re looking for a review of their actual beer, you’ll have to keep scrolling. Beer is very subjective with so many styles, so critiquing it is really a bit of a disservice. However, I am currently into IPA’s, the stronger the better. They’re Super Buzz is a 12% IPA that doesn’t drink like it’s 12%. The honey really cuts through.

As for facilities, Buena Vista is in an industrial area of Watsonville, so it’s aesthetics fit that vibe, compared to similar breweries. There is outdoor patio seating as well as open air seating inside as well. The facilities are well kept and clean. The restroom has a baby changing station and a “plug -in” air wick device that more breweries and places of business should incorporate.

Styles of beer at the time of my visit included IPA, Lager, Pale Ale, Sour, and a specialty grain.

On this evening, there was live music and on social media their beer was advertised as $5/pint. Great deal! Also ñ, there was a food truck on site.

The only real complaints I had were that one of the ‘bartenders’ was on his phone texting between orders. Not a quick text, but a good twenty to thirty second conversation. It may not seem like much, but a simple glance of acknowledgment or “I’ll be right with you,” goes a long way. No customer should feel like a bother or irritant. Secondly, after the band stopped playing, I ordered a beer for my buddy and I before last call. The beer was no longer $5. Two beers cost me $20.85. It would have been nice to have known that prior to ordering. Perhaps I missed it, but I didn’t see any posting at the bar that stated the $5 price ended once the band was done. It definitely did not state it on their IG post(I will add the post with my photos.)

Buena Vista makes you feel like family. They have an amazing selection of beer and a lively community. Corn hole nights on Monday have a huge and welcoming crowd it's an great way to unwind after work. There is live music every weekend and food trucks almost every day.

The current owners of this establishment have kind of destroyed what used to be a fun, welcoming environment back when it was Elkhorn Slough Brewing and later, The Slough. While I love the idea of adding a Hispanic twist to beer making, their execution leaves a lot to be desired

I really want to like this place but even with new ownership it’s lacking. The beer just isn’t that good nor the selection. But most importantly the service is snobby I feel like we’re not welcome like we’re an inconvenience. The ambiance is nice and chill. I’m sure I’ll go back but only because there aren’t many other choices in town.
