I imagine that during apple harvest season the place would look much better. At this time of the year, as expected, the apple trees are “bold”, which is a natural stage. However, I think that the surroundings and the antiques shop could be better maintained. They need “TLC”. The pies are good and better “a la mode”. I always enjoy the drive outside of Watsonville, back into the hills and orchards and berry fields. Gizdich is a rustic delight in the fall, with pies and pumpkins a'plenty. This year I ordered two great pumpkin pies for my birthday and Thanksgiving! Splurge!
Always a good time coming here with my family. We usually get the box lunches and a Dutch apple pie ala mode. I suggest if you’re ordering food to do it first as we have waited a while every time we go but usually we’re in no rush. We’ve tried the apple and Dutch apple pies (ala mode) but we can’t seem to try the others since these are so yummy! Apple slushy is a must.
