I had an issue with my order and reached out. I was met with an incredibly rude, condescending, and unhelpful response. There was information missing from my initial email, and they had no interest in seeking that information. Just telling me, it was my fault and they would do nothing to help. Terrible business practices. We are at a point now where they won't even deign to respond at all.

It was my first time ordering from this company and, the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is becasue the order took over 14 days to get to me. However, everything was packaged well, it was undoubtebly fresh, and exactly as expected. So, if you need your herbs immediately maybe try a diff route but if you can wait, they're def good quality product as advertised. Will order again.

I always read reviews before I purchase anything especially from a new to me company. However, I did not read any reviews before purchasing from Monterey Bay Herb Co until after making a small close to $100 purchase. After my order was shipped I came to Google to find reviews and was so upset I ordered based on what I was reading. However, I went to Amazon and read amazing reviews. I was conflicted and nervous about my order. Happy to say I was beyond pleased with my purchase. I ordered a pound of about 6 or 7 organic herbs. They all smell so good and fresh. They are authentic and just like the herbs from the shop in GA I used to purchase from before moving. I'm back home in a part of New England that has maybe one herb shop almost 2 hours from me. I used to order from Mountain Rose but they are so expensive now. I appreciate the affordable prices Monterey offers for a really great product. As long as they stay reasonable in price, they have a repeat customer out of me!

I have purchased herbs through Mt Rose Herbs for 15+ years but recently looked into alternatives. With the higher and higher prices with Mt Rose Herbs and their super slow shipping time on top of steep shipping costs, I looked at a handful of alternatives and settled on Monterey Bay Herb Co. Spent about $300, which came down to $250 with a new customer discount. Arrived within a week with free shipping. I found the quality to rival Mt Rose Herbs. Monterey's wildcrafted white sage is better quality than Mt Rose Herbs' cultivated imo. Everything smelled and looked fresh. The only semi sub-par item I got (in comparison to Mt Rose Herbs) were the pink rose petals, which were a little yellowed — but smell amazing!! Same with the chamomile... like a lot of chamomile "shake" and flowers just look a *little* rougher than Mt Rose Herbs' chamomile, but it smells amazing. The only downside to Monterey Bay is some items don't have an organic option and also things sell out quickly — but they also get restocked quickly, and they give you an estimated restock date (usually within a month... unlike Mt Rose Herbs which can take a year). Mt Rose Herbs also has a bigger selection, and i wish Monterey sold essential oils but I don't think that's really their niche. In short, it's Monterey Bay Herb Co for me going forward. I don't need my money going to a fancy website, glossy catalog, and marketing emails (Mt Rose Herbs)... Monterey is simple and efficient, and whatever I could not find with them or things that were out of stock or not available in organic, I was able to pick up at my local co-op's bulk herb section (shoutout to the Common Market in Frederick, MD). I was nervous about a big order but so happy I switched. Time to make teas and tinctures!

Very pleased with all of the herbs that I have received. Herbs come in sealed bags and have fresh appearance; my end products are flavorful and potent. Shipping is prompted and I like the website navigation. They stock so many varieties, and a fair price, that I just make Herb Co. my go to source.

Many of their products are contaminated with LEAD and should not be consumed. They’re purchasing products from China that contain heavy metal contaminants. If you request COA’s You will see that many of the products they sell should NOT be consumed. When I reached out to them and brought this to their attention, they did not care. I would never be buying from them again, I’m very disappointed With this company selling heavy metal contaminated products. I’m left with almost $300 worth of product that’s unusable and they Will not refund.
