Fun place to gather and enjoy time with your friends or significant other. This place is outdoors so make sure you are prepared for the current weather. This place is setup for wine tasting with some draft brews available as well.

It is quite spacious, nice tree co er and they do have many heaters to keep you warm. You can reserve ahead of time, and I highly recommend it. Parking is valet and there are not many other places to park, but it's cheap $6.

They generally do NOT have food here, bring your own or order in with grubhub or your delivery service of choice. I was here on a Saturday night with 5 friends and there was at the time a pizza option that was here, but that was it and I am not sure if they are setup all the time.

Atmosphere is pretty cool, very easy going and romantic. I suggest treat it like a nice picnic with some good beverages available. Wine was good and not overly expensive. You can also bring outside food and beverages, but not wine or beer.

I would go back and now that I know more of what to expect, it will be easier. Hope you have a great time here!

First Visit:

My first visit on a Friday during the summer was a pleasant experience. The venue was packed, but I was lucky to snag the last valet parking spot. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and the silent disco, which added a fun touch. I arrived around 4 PM and stayed until closing. While the waitstaff frequently reminded us about closing time during the final hour, they did so in a lighthearted way that didn’t feel intrusive. The wine selection was somewhat limited, particularly for sweeter, fruit-forward options, but I found a couple of wines I enjoyed. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I looked forward to returning.

Second Visit:

Unfortunately, my second visit fell far short of expectations. I visited on a Monday at 5:30 PM with a party of two, and the place was nearly empty. With only a handful of patrons, there was a clear opportunity for the staff to provide more attentive service, but instead, the experience felt rushed and dismissive.

Due to high winds, outdoor seating was closed, but with all the doors left open, the indoor space was just as cold. Our waitress seemed uninterested, spilling drinks while pouring and offering minimal engagement. She barely made eye contact and appeared eager to return to her seat rather than ensuring we were comfortable. By 6 PM, we were informed that last pour was at 6:30, but no one checked on us or asked if we needed anything during that time.

To make matters worse, the POS system automatically defaulted to the highest tip percentage, which felt inappropriate given the poor service. Other recent reviews mention similarly subpar experiences with waitstaff, suggesting this is a recurring issue for certain customers.

While Fridays here can be enjoyable, the inconsistent service and missed opportunities to elevate the experience have left a bad impression. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

It makes me sad to write a poor review but I was very disappointed with my experience this evening. We arrived at 5:30pm, well aware they closed at 7:00pm. When ordering from the bar, they made you feel very rushed and inconvienced. The bartender told us they do a last pour at 6:30pm and hard close at 7:00pm. We said we understood and went on our way. We ordered the flight so didn’t have intentions to order more within the 1.5 hours. While sitting and enjoying our wine by the fire, another bartender came around and told us AGAIN the last drink at 6:30pm and hard close at 7:00. At 6:30pm they shut the music off and 6:45pm rudely came over and shut our fireplace down. It was extremely clear they wanted to rush people to be out the door by 7pm on the dot and after driving an hour, the whole experience felt uncomfortable and rushed. Working in hospitality, I understand how annoying it is when people come in last minute but we still had an hour and a half until close and told them we understood they closed at 7pm. I don’t think we will be back. Very poor guest service and hospitality.

Friendly, delicious wine
You can buy food. I ordered cheese because I wanted to eat it at 4 o'clock, but it was already sold out.
There are very few Asian tourists, but there are a lot of local gatherings and parties. Most people's clothes are formal or party attire.
Valet service is required, with a basic fee of $8 and a tip of up to $8.

A Taste of Northern California at Malibu Wine & Beer Garden

As a new resident, I’m still getting to know the LA area, and I’ve been missing the winery scene from Northern California. So, when my friends came to visit over the weekend, we decided to branch out to Malibu Wine & Beer Garden in Calabasas for some wine tasting. It turned out to be the perfect choice!

Despite being super busy, the staff managed to seat us without a reservation, which we really appreciated. The ambiance was fantastic—beautifully set up with a warm, welcoming vibe that reminded me of the wineries up north in Napa Valley. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the combination of great wine, friends, and scenic surroundings made for an amazing time.

Malibu Wine & Beer Garden is definitely a gem for anyone craving a touch of the country feel without having to travel too far. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to explore more of what they have to offer!

Okay, but if you’re not a member they make you feel bad and your seating options are limited. $8 mandatory valet parking not including tip. Only food option was pizza and it was so so.

We had just gotten a new bottle of wine and then a waiter comes up and tells us we have to leave because the table is now reserved for another table. Mind you, there was no notice or them letting us know that someone will be here at a certain time. The host made us move all of our items without even offering to help while standing by and just watching. We were having a good time until this happened. It felt very hostile when he came up to us. There were plenty of tables that have been there longer than us.

The people who run this place are SNOBBY!! My husband and I stopped for lunch and drinks and while waiting in line for a drink, the bartender asked if we were members, we said no, and he replied we’ll move out of the way. I’m sorry but you do not treat people this way. This was a one time trip for us and I won’t ever recommend anyone else to go there.

Enjoyed the pretty outdoor space. My friends are members so a table was easy to find on a busy Saturday afternoon. Place was packed. Decent wine, Pinot & Malbec were faves and yummy pizzas to buy. My favorite thing was reading about the history of the Adobe building and how it was built for the original owners horses and was once on 300 acres! It must have been beautiful here back in the 1930’s.
Residential neighborhood, no views but a nice shady outdoor space with plenty of trees. Worth checking out and you can bring your own food.

Good place to chill on a quiet weekday afternoon. I appreciate the selection of different types of beer - wheat, IPA, pilsners, dark, and a cider, too. Mostly local breweries on tap; awesome. 4oz tasters or 12oz pours. In house wines and there's a wine flight option. The venue is outdoors with chairs and big umbrellas. Bar food and small bites. small parking lot on gravel.

Customer service at the bar was trash , this was my first time there and female that supposedly helped at the wine bar never cared to give us any information on the wines or the beer. She just turned a menu around for the wine options and that's it, we asked about the cheese board and told us it was sold out ,as well as another item from the supposed build your own. Rude , rude and rude. Although the atmosphere is pretty chill, the customer service sucks! Shout out to the young man who served our slushy rosé. Do better Malibu Wines and Beer Garden staff! ✌️

Simply trash. Only go if you don’t care about customer service and lack of organization.Bar had extremely terrible customer service, guy just didn’t care. Asked about the different wines and just goes ahead and slams the menu in our faces and says choose one. Great way to educate potential clients about the winery’s wine.
