Krispy Krunchy Chicken @Circle K

My wife loves fried chicken, it's a little bit cheaper than KFC.

We've been coming here for over a year maybe once a month or so. Our usual fare is a box of dark meat, pieces of 8 for just under $18.

Always good in the past, except for this time it was so bad.

How bad? We will never come here or any other Krispy Krunchy again.

It's just not worth making the drive home, then expecting to sit down to a enjoyably tasty meal after we take care of feeding our dogs and then end up getting sick over it.

Not the nauseous throw up kind. The oil irritated my wife's throat and caused her to get a scratchy throat the next day and made her sick.

As soon as I got one bite in, I realized a fishy smell, the breading was hard, fused to the meat and the meat itself was dried out.

Now mind you, this is dark meat which is supposed to be way tenderer and juicier than white meat.

My wife used to work at KFC years ago and she knew that one of the issues was it was cooked in old oil. The other issue was this was old chicken (cooked days prior) that has been sitting under the warming lamps for way too long.

We love to support the private and small business operators but we expect to get what a professional food business advertises, good food and won't get us sick from their negligence in straying from their Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

That means knowing when to dump the old oil and use fresh oil.

The other is to throw out meat when it's no longer suitable for human consumption.

For us, it's KFC here from now on.

I've never been so disappointed from getting food from a gas station.

This is from a person who loves the hot dogs at 7-11. I have also bought many times home cooked Tacos and Tamales from a gas station and never have been disappointed in all my years of driving 40+ years into a gas station.

I go here a lot to get something to drink or food just before work.. the chicken is bomb just as well the biscuits man I usually get 2 or 3 biscuits I’ll get a anywhere from a 3pc to 4pc just enough to grub on before work

Parking: It’s enough to get someone to eat or drink or whatever you want there space

Krispy krunchy Chicken is a hidden gem inside some gas stations if you find them you're a lucky one. If you're a big fried Chicken lover like me then you will most definitely like this fried Chicken. It kind of reminds me of Church's Chicken in a little bit but it has its own flavor and it's pretty much a stock fried Chicken. It's legit. And they must use good quality ingredients because sometimes after eating cheap fried Chicken it really upsets my stomach. And this stuff did not do anything to me. Look it up if you got one within 20 to 30 minutes from you I recommend go check it out. It's not really a place where you can eat the chicken there you just buy it there and then take it home and eat it.

Please just check the warmers the chicken was cold but everything else was hot tho really good

The chicken here is always good but potatoes is a hit and miss. If it's the younger guy then he'll make fresh fries if there's not much left, if its the older guy with glasses then he'll give you all the scraps that's left at the bottom of the pan even if it fills only half the box and will say "no more potatoes."

Omgosh I love their chicken it's a must buy

Best fried chicken I ever had. You cannot go wrong with this chicken. The wings are delicious and juicy.
