If you are big fan of Halal Gyros and live in NYC, I bet their gyros and platters/combos will disappoint you. Very small portion of chicken and lamb over rice platter, barely white sauce with full of lettuce ?? and their chicken gyros barely have chicken. Very disappointing experience never gonna recommend. I have to dig for chicken and lamb in my plate…

A very good friend recommended us to the Shah at downtown Davis but we never get the chance to try them but was lucky enough to try the actual cafe here. The food was surprisingly good and service was excellent (not busy weekend). Halal option is great

I don't get the hype, I got the lamb platter, meat was spongy, brown rice was flavorless, hummus was close to liquid. Cheap quality food for $12 is a ripoff.

This place is wonderful and I used to get it years ago. I have felt that the serving sizes have gone down and the quality of the food as well which is kinda disappointing and hence the 3 stars. On a normal scale this place would get 4/5 stars on the food. Loved the design and atmosphere and the sauce. Overall, good place, may or may not come again just cause the servings are so much smaller now than years ago when I used to come, I’d rather they increase the price by a few bucks and maintain quality and size than cheapen out.

We heard a lot of good things about their food, and were glad that we finally got to try it out. This restaurant is amazing, everything about it is so great. The quality of the food and cleanliness of the restaurant. The taste of the food is so delicious as well as the price of the items is also affordable. The portion size is so humongous in such a way that it is hard to finish it in a single sitting. Till date, we have tried the chicken, lamb, and kofta kabab platters, and it has all been absolutely delicious. The platters have veggie options to add on, like lettuce, cucumber, tomato, onion, peppers, and protein options like chicken, lamb, fish. Their fries are remarkably tasty as well. The red sauce is really hot, and has a lot of flavor in it. They also have choices of sauces, like white, BBQ, and green chili chutney. Customer service was exceptional. For sure, we will be one of the habitual customer here.
