So I just finished my food. I had the bear paw chicken fried steak which came with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. The food tasted good, but before I even started eating underneath the gravy on my chicken fried steak was a tiny black hair.. I was starving so I scraped it off and didn't want to make a big deal about it so I brushed it off, hoping I wouldn't find more. After I finished my steak and most of my potatoes I was eating my green beans and noticed ANOTHER little black hair floating in the juice. The staff is nice but the cooks need to be wearing hair nets instead of hats.

As a Northern Californai native, I have eaten at Black Bear for decades. One of our favorites. The experience today was average. Took too long to get food, toast was burnt, everything else just tasted okay. Clean and friendly establishment.

We had a group of over 20 people come in after a large event at the raceway. They were able to accommodate us last minute, and provided excellent service. Sandra was our main server, but the entire team was on point for such a large last minute walk in.

Sad to say I had high hopes for Thanksgiving dinner at blackbear diner Which ended up being the worst meal I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Two of us had the prime rib dinner, Two Had the turkey dinner and one Ordered the macaroni and cheese. The Loaded potato soup had a metallic salty taste that reminded me of instant mashed potatoes. The four of us that had the stuffing asked to have it removed from the table because of the smell and the chemical taste. It tasted as if it had been sitting on the shelf for years. The prime rib was mediocre, warm and tough. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm with a white gravy. Turkey dinners seemed halfway decent except for the stuffing and the macaroni and cheese was cold and like something you would’ve bought From the deli at Walmart. Overall, for the other cost $167 I would’ve been much happier going to Denny’s and spending half the amount. So very disappointed in blackbear diner in Willows California.
