Visited during a local barrel tasting event. Pleasant service, despite the crowds, though it felt a little strange tasting in an executive conference room. Most of the wine (barrel or bottled) was decent but not earth-changing. We did enjoy one enough to buy a bottle (with our limited luggage space); alas, at home we discovered it was corked, which was disappointing.Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Phyllis Zouzounis is a legend among winemakers, deservedly so. Her immense skill was evident when we tasted her zins, her petite sirahs, and Rafina, a port style wine from Portuguese grapes. Wow! She teases out the distinctive character of each vineyard's grapes. Each zin is different, and special. She personally guided us through this tasting, and shared many personal stories about winemaking. Thanks, Phyllis! We'll definitely be back!
One of the best kept secrets in Sonoma County. Phyllis makes phenomenal Zinfandel, along with Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc. It's a beautiful setting for tasting and the wines are reasonably priced. She is open by appointments on the weekends. Be sure to check out Zouzounis wines!
Great red wines from a pioneer woman winemaker. Phyllis Zouzounis knows Zin.
Loved all of the Zin's and the Petite Syrah. Amazing tasting experience with Kim & Phyllis!
LOVE all of their wines. I would have to say the Zinfandel is my favorite. Really cute little tasting room with perfect outdoor seating on a sunny day. Phyliss, the owner, really makes you feel like you are family sitting around her table having a glass of wine! Can’t wait to go back.
Phyllis’ wines are well balanced, elegant and a true representation of the vineyards she handpicks to create her wines. Small lots, big flavor, delicate but intentional crafts-woman-ship that highlights the individuality of each varietal. Like I said, “Yum to the Um!” 🍷🍷🍷
Intimate setting and a chance to taste with the winemaker. Great zins!
