Always a great experience at Gratta. Servers are amazing and food is the tops in the town. One of my favorites and has been for years!
Lisa is the best! This is where we have our Family celebrations and we will keep coming back.
The food was excellent. Hanger steak -- American wagyu -- was very tender and tasty, ricotta filled ravioli with a marsala-based sauce, meatballs baked in a flavorful marinara sauce, were all excellent. On the downside, our waitress, otherwise cheerful and informative, did NOT tell us about the evening specials. My dining companion, although happy with her dinner selection, said she would have ordered one of the specials instead. (Turns out the specials were on a small piece of paper paper-clipped inside the leatherette front cover of a large menu which contained apparently the lunch menu.) For dessert, while we enjoyed the raspberry (?) filled doughnuts, my pistachio ice cream order was not served. The music -- the urgency of a stream of up-tempo country-blues-rock -- did not fit in an Italian restaurant where you want to relax and dine. Change the channel, already. We sat near the entrance to the covered outdoor seating area, which still had customers after 7 p.m., and were chilled by the draft of cold air sliding through the open door to the patio. We'll return but meanwhile Grata needs to firm up the details: put the dinner menu and the specials in the large leatherette book, switch to Italian music to enhance the ambiance. I don't know what can be done about the outdoor seating area at night if customers are still in the room; but close the door to keep the chill out.
My favorite restaurant never disappoints! I love the food, service and atmosphere every time I eat there.
There were only two Italian red wines...and this is an Italian restaurant! The risotto balls were good, but I had to pay for bread. And then the entre arrived. The sauce was thick and the pasta was in a clump. I could eat only a small amount because the sauce was so dense and pasty. Probably won't return soon. There are better Italian options in the area. Very disappointing since it was my birthday and I wanted a special meal. It was not.
The special was Calamari Steak with Lemon Piccata style and pasta. It was delicious. We always have a great meal at Grata.
Our server was friendly and helpful with recommendations. Our entire experience was wonderful.
I was outside. I think you should lose the plastic geometric Christmas balls on the railing. I told the waitress that and she thinks they're really cool. But come on, get creative and put something really awesome there that people would admire. The rice balls appetizer is pretty boring tasting. Put a little spice on the inside and maybe even the outside. The flourless chocolate cake was way way good.
Ordered the Short Ribs Lasagna. It was a decent size but a bit too salty. We were seated outside which is noisy between other diners and traffic on Windsor Road. We were there on Memorial Day, and the place was surprisingly busy. They must have been short-staffed because it took a long time to get one of our drink orders delivered as well as placing our food orders.
Great food and service but it was a little loud in the back where we sat. Had to speak really loud to hear our conversation.

Great service - great food - it was a nice experience and we will definitely be back. Our waitress was super nice. We had the cacio e pepe and the shrimp diavolo.
Went on one of their meatball madness nights. Good and what a deal. We also ordered the burrata. Highly recommend.
The best Italian seafood and pasta I have had in quite some time. Outstanding recipes with fresh ingredients expertly prepared. Great service from the wait staff as well. A real gem.
Friendly and quick service. My companions enjoyed their meals - gnocchi, ribs/lasagne, but my chicken parm was lacking. The chicken was so thin that once cooked it was hard to cut through and a challenge to find chicken in the heavy breading.
Good food, good service, easy atmosphere! We live in Windsor and consider Grata an easy upscale place for us or guests when we want to impress. Let's go downtown Windsor, mile away, and have a top flight Sonoma Wine Country meal! No we have never heard of Napa Valley (LOL)! My wife & I dropped in on the spur of the moment for our 37th Anniversary (4/29/88) of knowing each other. Just the right place!
