We appreciate that they accommodated our request for outdoor seating. The food was delicious and we tried a few of the specials. Great spot in Winters!
Glad we came! Evening out with friends and made the decision to eat at Carbonis. Arrived a bit early so had a cocktail at the bar before going to our table. The live music was a nice addition to the ambiance. The bartender (havent seen her before) was not very friendly and had a slight attitude...and my friend felt that something was missing from her cocktail but chose not to say anything. Things improved vastly when we moved to our table. Our server was engaging, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was delicious. Two of us ordered salads and the meatballs on polenta....these meatballs are my very favorite and never disappoint. All four of us were very satisfied with our meal and the guys topped things off with gelato. Carbonis continues to be high on our favorite restaurants list.
Service was understaffed. Slow to take drink order. It was difficult to locate help when we needed water. They could have used cushions on the chairs. Napkins were scarce.
I thought the pasta was a bit overpriced, rigatoni with marinara sauce, maybe a cup and a half, $18.00 supposed to be vegan...a vegan pizza was $24.00...okay...no cheese, just veggies and marinara sauce...$16.00 for salads...total out the door with %20 gratuity and one drink... $95.82...
We enjoyed dinner and drinks at Carboni's during our stay at Hotel Winters and it was great! The first time I had prosciutto wrapped shrimp and my friend has filet minion with risotto. The next time I had the salmon with risotto and my friend had the prosciutto shrimp with risotto. Every meal was delicious. Our favorite each time was definitely the different types of risotto! We will be back!
The food quality was pretty awful. We were on vacation for two weeks and ate out every night. The food here was memorable as the worst, and it wasn't the least expensive either.
There was a music duo there and it killed the Sunday vibe of wanted it to be slow and quiet. They were horrible sounding as well.
The food was excellent and with many different choices. It was a bit noisy due to the hard floors and high ceiling, but mostly due to a large birthday party, which once completed, made the space much more quiet. Both our server and the bar tender were amiable and provided excellent service, food, and drinks.
The food and service was excellent - as always. The only area they could improve is the ambiance, the decor of the restaurant. Flower arrangement, plants, colorful paintings would do wonder! Other than that, always a delight!
The food was good but not outstanding. I ordered the salmon and felt it was overcooked for my taste. Everyone else in my party was happy. My daughter ordered the hanger steak, which was good (tender and flavorful). The service was good, but the atmosphere was pretty sterile for an Italian restaurant. The best part of the meal to me was the service, which was good.

Our first time eating in Carboni's and it was quite a disappointment. We looked at the menu that was posted outside hoping to come in to get the pizza and pasta however instead we were given a completely different Brunch Menu from the one we saw posted. The food we ordered was definitely not what we expected for $16 a dish. The tiramisu pancakes were dry and hard. There was no taste of tiramisu. Just the cocoa powder and some cream in between two thin hard pancakes drizzled with some espresso around the plate for plating purposes. The sausage that came with it was just okay. Nothing special. The truffle scrambled eggs which was described to be soft scrambled eggs with crispy proscuitto was hard scrambled and the proscuitto was not at all crispy. It was also a bit dry. The toasted foccacia bread was just okay. Not butter or jam or anything was given. The waiter was super nice and friendly and that was the only part about dining in the restaurant that we liked. We waited quite a while to get our order in and we even thought about walking out but decided to just stay and give this restaurant a chance but its not likely that we will come back.
The cocktails were great and the food was ok. We were supposed to be given 10% off for being Hotel Winters guests but the discount was not applied. When I asked our server, he insisted that it had been. I didn't pursue this issue as I didn't wish to get into a confrontation so I was disappointed.
Their Sunday brunch menu looked promising, but did not deliver. The Italian panini was on regular sliced white bread (not Italian at all) and the cheese wasn't melted. The frittata was just okay. Not much flavor. Tiramisu pancakes were the worst I've ever had. Rubbery and tasted like they were made from a box, nothing tiramisu about them at all. Service, drinks and ambiance were good. We'd come back for drinks at the bar, but unfortunately, not to eat.
This place is wonderful!!! Incredible food and have such a fun atmosphere - especially on Wednesday! Half off wine and live music! We’ll be back for sure 👍!!
My experience was very enjoyable and relaxing. I would recommended this restaurant to anyone visiting Winters, Ca.
