I recommend for everyone to try this place to make up your own mind however, here is my experience...Place is nicely decorated, friendly staff, has a great bar with great drinks and live music in the bar area. That said, when it came to food, during our first and only visit, the wait time to order food after being seated was almost an hour. When the food came, the steaks were very very very salty, to the point where both of us had a few bites and left the rest. We didn't even want to bring home the leftovers for the dogs. It was obvious that they didn't have enough staff as, after being seated, it took almost 30 minutes for our order to be taken, almost an hour to receive the food and almost 30+ minutes to receive the bill after we asked for it. During this time, we hardly saw our waiter, who by the way was very nice. Again, this was our experience and yours may be completely different than ours.
We had an amazing time at The Exchange. The staff was very friendly and the service was out of this world!

We arrived early and asked to sit inthe Ghost Lounge until the rest of our party arrived for dinner. The atmosphere and specialty drinks were fantastic. We were then seated for dinner and we were served by Lacey who was very kind and helpful. I had the chicken marsala which prepaired perfectly. Our friends had the duck and said it was also wounderful. Plentiful and appetizing to the max. Pricey but worth the experience. We will do it again...

Wanted to go to a nice place for my 67th birthday, and decided to look in the Woodbridge area of Lodi for options. The only place really speaking to me, when looking at reviews and pictures, was the Exchange. It's a very old, and haunted, steakhouse and speakeasy, going back to the wild west days. It has a wonderful ambiance. Everyone is very friendly. Even had convos that seemed so easy, with other patreons. Our food was delicious.Brussel Sprouts appetizer was a wonderful start. They poured me a nice glass of local Sauvignon Blanc I had the ribeye, which had a great seer. My wife had the cheese ravioli, which melted In your mouth. I found out they also have jazz music on Wednesday, and weekend brunch. bon appetite. Will definitely be back

So sad … first time going here .. was sadly disappointed, the food was good but when I took my first bite it wasn’t warm my sister and I had the same meal .. if felt like ours were waiting out for a while, instead of reheating it they made it again which took forever .. my sister and I weren’t happy so we took it to go but looks like they dished us less then when we first got it, like the chef was upset that we had the food taken back .. sadly won’t be coming back

Amazing food. Service was excellent. You get a big glass of water unlike most restaurants who give you a 4 oz glass of water. Steak was so good. Chocolate cake was excellent. No crime here, unlike Stockton where your car can get broken into.

I always hate to say negative things about a business or the service I received, however sometimes it needs to be said. It all started when we walked in and after 5 minutes, I had to go find someone to seat us. Needless to say, we weren't greeted by anyone. Finally we were seated and placed our orders, they were delivered but wait my story gets better, we had placed our dinner orders and it seemed like it was taking a while, that's because 30 minutes had gone by and we were the only ones there. Finally out meals come I ordered chicken Marsala which was a little salty but still very good and probably would have been really good had it been hot. It had apparently sat somewhere long enough to cool down significantly. I let it go though, dinner had already been a disappointment.
What gets me is I used to be a server, I know what it entails. I expect a certain level of service.

Nice location, cool building, pleasant staff. Food is decent - not great, but better than good. Wine list is reasonably priced.

This is a great place for a nice dinner! The filets were absolutely amazing — I honestly wanted to order a second one. It’s easily the best filet I’ve had locally. The desserts were delicious as well and definitely worth saving room for.
The service was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We did have to ask for refills a couple of times, but other than that, everything was well taken care of. From the moment we walked in to the time we left, every employee we interacted with was welcoming and pleasant.
One of the people in our group has a gluten allergy, and the restaurant was able to accommodate them with ease, which we really appreciated.
We’ll definitely be back soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

After doing some wine tasting with my wife in Lodi, we decided to grab dinner before heading back home. We came across an interesting-looking restaurant and bar, so we decided to give it a shot. The atmosphere was incredible—it felt like we were transported back to the Prohibition era, enjoying cocktails and good food in a speakeasy. The décor really nailed that vintage vibe, and the service was just as impressive. Our waiter, who also worked the bar, was super attentive and made some of the best drinks we’ve had.
He let us know there would be live music later that evening, but unfortunately, we couldn’t stick around long enough to catch it. We’ll definitely have to come back sometime to enjoy the music with a good Old Fashioned in hand.
I ordered the ribeye steak, and it was a solid, flavorful cut—no complaints there. Overall, the place had great food, excellent service, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere.

This place is an absolute hidden gem. Went with a friend for brunch and after being there only a few minutes, we knew we’d been missing out by never being here before. Lush beautiful and super comfortable seating, the most interesting and mysterious atmosphere and decor and relaxing jazz music playing over the speakers at just the right volume (a few brunch places in Stockton that we’ve frequented have become intolerable due to the music and overall atmosphere being loud). Bloody Marys were delicious, as was my Eggs Benedict and my friend’s Chicken Caesar salad. Host and server were both friendly and prompt. After brunch we took a little self tour of the different seating areas- so cool with a historic, contemporary and retro feel. I’ll definitely be back with my husband on a Saturday night for Jazz at the Ghost Lounge and as for brunch with my friend - this is undoubtedly our new place. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Love the vibe and spiritual feel of the ghost bar. The drinks are spot on and a nice old west Victorian atmosphere.

Last night was our 4th dinner at 1874, and it was once again, superb! We started with the asparagus appetizer special which was especially tasty (& a nice break from most restaurants’ deep-fried asparagus offerings). My wife thoroughly enjoyed her salmon entrée, and my thick, yet perfectly cooked filet mignon was the most tender and flavorfully rich I can ever remember having … anywhere. Our waiter (for the 2nd time), was Alain. He is a top-notch professional with a great attitude, right-on timing, useful suggestions, etc., and made the great food that much more enjoyable. After dinner (in the Dining Room) we went to 1874's Ghost Lounge to enjoy the live jazz (Alex Reyes trio) over some Key Lime Pie and Bread Pudding which were also super tasty. We’re really looking forward to our 5th and future visits!
