Food was great! They close at 8:00 p.m. so they were rushing to get us out!
We have been eating at Nicola’s for many years and the food is always excellent. Service is very good, but prices have risen significantly in the last few years.
I’ve been going to Nicolas for over 20 years. I love their bread, salads and pastas. I went a few weeks ago and I thought the prices were insane!! $21 for their basic (BeBe mix) salad with NO chicken. I was just looking at a similar restaurant in Malibu and it was $19 for a salad with chicken. The BeBe mix salad shouldn’t be more than $16. The place was also pretty quiet for noon on a Friday. Perhaps if the prices were $5 per item lower it would be busier. Don’t be greedy with your pricing.
My go to place when staying at Woodland Hills Courtyard. Chicken Fettuccine is outstanding
I've known Nicola's Kitchen for over 20 years. This is the first time in 6 years that I've been back and I'm happy to report that the quality and service remain unchanged!
Food better than I remembered. Moved out of area 8 years ago so only get to go periodically.
It has a home style feeling here, the food taste good and the prices are reasonable. We ate Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala and Lasagna.
Parking: Metered parking on Ventura Blvd is cheaper than the parking structure, the only problem is the meter only has 1 hour on it so we had to run outside to pay the meter because we wanted to stay and chat for a little bit.
A place we go to every once in a while and it remains good over the years. Portions are big, price is very reasonable, wine selection is good too. Service is good as well.
Nicola's Kitchen is a good Italian restaurant. They ask if you want bread before you order, which was tasty flatbread, which went well with the balsamic vinegar! I ordered the eggplant parmesan which came on top of noodles. I was slightly underwhelmed because there were just 2 thin pieces of eggplant on top of a lot of noodles - which actually was enough for 2 meals for me. There is also parking at the parking lot that is behind the shopping center, which they will validate (not the public one across the street).
Parking: The parking structure is located behind the building, labeled with Gastro Pub.
It's quickly become a family favorite. Lovely environment, food is delicious.
Restaurantji Recommends
Lovely independent establishment, service is great for dine-in, takeout AND delivery… lots of interesting food options.
1. Nice and small right off the street.2. Very friendly service3. Good food.4. Mom and pop feel which is my fave.5. Would recommend but...judge for yourself.
Parking: Street parking w/meter (1 hrs only) or in the back
Been coming here a lifetime. The food is out of this world. The service should be modeled for all restaurants. Can't say enough.
Nicola’s Kitchen is located in an ok area. Street parking was easy to find. We ordered chicken parm; chicken sesame w oil and garlic spaghetti; and BYO small pizza (where you pick what you want). My husband didn't like the chicken parm because the pasta was dry but I think this is an easy fix my asking for more sauce; the description for chicken sesame made me think it was a lemon sauce but the chicken was well cooked because of the sesame breading. I didn't see sesame but I tasted it. I definitely wouldn't order it again. I would want to taste more of the chicken. My teen daughter thought the pizza was okay. It lacked crispiness. If we ever come back to Woodland Hills, we wouldn't come back.
Shared a salad with a friend. (They're huge and more than enough for 2.) Really delicious ? The service and attentiveness was superb. Will definitely return.
