My husband and I have lived in woodland for 3 years now and today was the first time we tried Ludy's! We are IN LOVE. We are always searching for a good BBQ spot and this is the best spot in the sacramento area.
This time around we ordered the family pack with the chicken and tri tip + the baked beans, mac & cheese, and corn bread with honey butter. We are big bbq people and love the smokey taste! I MUST say, Ludy's does it right! The smoke is just perfect. BBQ sauce is homemade, of course. The owner has won so many awards and appears to have so many amazing employees that want us to enjoy our experience. We were worried that we didn't choose the brisket as one of the sides for our family order and regretted it, so the cooks gave us a sample of the brisket to take home and it was to die for. We were so thankful they graciously offered us a sample.
And to top it off, the owner was at the restaurant and said hi, introduced himself, and made sure we felt welcome. He invited us back if liked the food and service, and this will definitely be a regular spot for us.
All in all, very pleased with the quality of food, customer service, and environment. Highly recommend. Worth every penny!

We heard Ludys had made a return so we had to go grab some food. I got the prime rib sandwich and it tastes pretty good! My wife (who loved the main St Ludys) got the pulled pork sandwich and ate about half. I tried it and we both agreed it did not taste as good as it used to. It seemed overcooked and the flavor was not great. She was definitely disappointed. Our kids got chicken strips and fries, no complaints from them. The portions are large and the staff were super friendly as well!!
Food had large portions but the bbq was a disappointment. Seasoning was bland and the Food was luke warm like it was cooked by Chef Microwave. Place is small too.

Wow- finally! Great BBQ in town! We had the pulled pork sandwich and half chicken dinner. Chicken was moist flavorful and delicious. Pork was melt in your mouth with awesome flavor- huge sandwich. Potato salad, coleslaw and beans all really good! Cornbread with the honey butter was delicious as well. Great portions. Fair prices for BBQ. Service was excellent- everyone was friendly, helpful, and at least two people stopped by our table during the meal to check on us. It was obvious everyone who was on shift that night was invested. Hard to find businesses with employees who truly care these days. Bravo Ludy’s, we will be back! Definitely recommend!

The Mary’s pulled pork was amazing!!! They are so friendly and everything they make is made from scratch include the French fries. The servings are good portion. Finally bbq place where you get what you pay for. We will be coming back. Also the mud pie is big enough for two people!!

SO GLAD Ludy’s is back open (although in a different location over by Food 4 Less!) It has always been one of the best barbecue joints!! The sauce is fantastic, meat smoked to perfection and the decor is so fun and festive! Also kids eat free promo (on certain days) was always a huge bonus!! Their catering arm is also delicious and has a wide variety of options- not just BBQ. Welcome back Ludy’s!
