Honestly it’s a super cute venue and the food is very good(although a bit overpriced in my opinion) but my main issue was with the service. We came with a party of 8, and they let us know when we made our reservation online and the let us know that for parties of 6+, we had to pay together and there was a 20% auto grat, we had no issue with this! We got there and it’s set up so that you go inside to order. We sat at the table for 30ish min with no one coming over before deciding as a group that we likely had to go inside to order, we went in and spoke to the person at the register and said it was no problem if we all just came in to order separately since that’s how the restaurant is set up. Halfway through our order, another woman came up and pretty aggressively told us we had to go back to our table and that she would come take our order, and that we should know that we have to order together because of the email. We go back to the table and after another 15 minutes she finally comes over, we order(it’s super disorganized to order, probably because her experience with table side orders is limited, which I understand but she wasn’t very nice about it and still seemed annoyed we had tried to go inside). Drinks get brought out and some of the drinks were forgotten, then food is brought out and then no one comes back to the table again. We were hoping to order dessert and more drinks and were scared to go inside after our first experience but no one ever even walked by the table so that we could ask to order more. Eventually we give up and someone goes inside to ask for a receipt so we can all give cash to make paying together easier. They tell us they don’t know how to print receipts. So we ended up just having one person pay and figuring it out based on the menu. The irony is if we had gone in to order, I’m certain all of us would have tipped 20+% but instead we received really lackluster service that wasn’t worth the 20% auto grat, and soured the whole experience.

The food and drink is so good, and the space is beautiful! Easy outdoor space to be in with kids. The staff is great as well! Very helpful and nice. I hope we can stop at The Hive again soon ✨

They had a decent amount of options for mead and the service was great. We tasted a lot of different honey. There was lots of seating. The place was air-conditioned. My only complaint would be that a taster of four shot-size meads was over $30.

Always enjoy getting to to listen to live music . My kids (all adults) really enjoyed the free honey tasting and of course we went home with several jars. Everybody enjoyed getting to try Mead.

The food here is amazing and the seating area outside is really nice, even in the heat. There's a stage for events, area to walk around a garden, with beautiful sunflowers in the summer. The food is amazing here. Especially loved the pork chiccharones and the muffalata sandwich. I didn't even try the mead and it was a fantastic experience.

This was a fun experience! Delicious food! We were there during work so no alcohol.. but the experience was very good. Will be back ifni'm back through town.
It's in an i Austrian part of the community.. but don't be fooled! It's a classy top notch place!

We had the most wonderful time at the Hive this past Saturday!

We went for my birthday and were not disappointed. The food is excellent with the Baba Ganoush and the Dolmas standing out.

However, as expected the tour and the honey were the most memorable experiences.

We had a tour with Amina and it was truly a wonderful slice of life experience to hear her story (and the surprising overlap with mine) and how the Hive came to be. The tour was around 2 hours and at the end included tasting of 6 types of honey. It was so interesting to learn about the honey making process (I didn't know one bee only makes 1/12th of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime)! This enhanced the delicious honey tasting experience at the end.

The honey tasting truly rivaled any wine tasting I've been to with a complexity of aromas and tastes that were exquisite.

I highly recommend to anyone and it was certainly worth the drive from Mountain View!

Their garden is so nice as well with so many flowers (that are all pollinated by bees) and vegetables too!

Can't stop raving about this place. I went with 4 friends for a tour and honey tasting, which were fun and informative. Learned all about bees and local plants and the honey business. I was impressed with the solid ethics of the generational family behind this place--especially their support for local communities (including SacLGBT center where I won this tour in a silent auction). All around good people. After the educational honey tasting (book today!) we had mead tasting flights in the beautiful patio shaded under the pergola and chatted while watching the plants sway in the breeze. Already planning our next visit. A perfect afternoon so close to Sacramento. Did I mention how spotless the kitchen was? No wonder the food tasted incredible.

We came in on a Saturday for the first time, no one really explained to us how anything worked so we just ordered a flight and some bites to share. The mead is good, but our arancini was still frozen in the middle when it arrived at our table. A very small portion of steak as well. We were told all water/utensils/napkins were self serve but watched another couple get served all those items, as well as an extra table moved over for them. Probably wouldn’t return based on service and food.
