This restaurant exceeded expectations! We sat on the back porch, and the view of the hills was nice. The antique train goes by about every 15 minutes, and there’s Partridge birds that come up expecting food. Buffalo wings were very good, and the chili and cornbread was tasty too. Good coffee. Excellent Dutch apple pie. Period music puts you in the mindset of the gold rush era. Sweet server.

The stairs heading to the town were very dangerous. The rail was unstable and the steps were uneven and some were loss. Would not recommend. I amazed that no one has fallen to their death. No reason for them to not make these step safer.

We went to just try the restaurant. Hubby had the Eggs and Ham Steak. I had the Eggs and Country Fried Steak. We were very happy with the food and rustic atmosphere. We did have to pay 10.00 each to get into the park. The meals were around 20.00 each.

Place used to have specials for Christmas New Year's time they used to have sarsaparilla on tap they don't no more. Put the food is still good. Drinks are served in the Mason jar still. Service was good and friendly. And the time for the food was pretty fast. So if you have a big party going up make sure you go there a couple hours before hand so they can get enough time to cook everyone's food and you have enough time to relax and socialize.

Have always enjoyed stopping by the Calico Restaurant to have a nice meal while visiting the Ghost town....Always fast and very friendly service....The food is good as well as simple....Love the ambiance inside and out....Be like taking a step back in time to the 1880's......Calico will always hold a special place in my heart from the first time we visited on a warm day in 1973 with my Dad and brother while on a road trip.....

Waited 20 minutes only to be told by a lady with the worst attitude slamming her order pad on the counter that I’ll be served after a tour bus that came in after us, which would take 45 minutes. Maybe cause we were the only Japanese family there, but we felt extremely unwelcome. Hire more staff or get your act together lmao
Beautiful decoration, beautiful place located in an old cowboy village. We took the famous American burger served with light and crisp fries. Good meal. Warm welcome.

Came in at 4:23 in the afternoon and was told the kitchen closes at 4:30 and they would only serve us drinks. Come to find out from other people in town that they also were turned away but even earlier.
Also, on the government website they mentioned that they do old menu items that would have been served in the 1880s. They serve nothing that is mentioned on the government website. See the attached picture. Even with them closing the kitchen, they wouldn't even offer us to have a $7 peanut butter and jelly. Definitely do not come here and waste your time
But on a positive note, the lady that works at the saloon two doors down is a gem and will make you hot dogs until the very last at 5:00 closing time. Also, she has a horse sanctuary so please donate her! Her and her blind horse is also in a Guinness book of world record.
