The food here is honestly a bit overrated, but that’s never really been the point.
In the middle of such a remote stretch of desert highway, having a place like this — with character, history, and a sense of nostalgia — is actually a small blessing for travelers.
Peggy Sue didn’t build this diner to compete with modern restaurants. She built it to preserve a piece of 1950s American road culture, a place where people could stop, sit down, and take a break from the drive.
You don’t come here expecting great food. You come for the atmosphere, the memories, and the simple fact that it’s still here.

Yes, stop for lunch. Fresh, fast and fun. Kids loved it. Great place to stretch the legs by walking around the diner-saur yard. Chip card only, no tap to pay. Unique atmosphere, typical diner food.

We've driven by Peggy Sue's Diner numerous times on my way to Las Vegas. We finally decided to stop and give them a try. We were not disappointed! The decor was all 50's related. It's a blast to the past with pictures & figurines of iconic stars such as Elvis, Hepburn, the Lone Ranger, Shirley Temple, the 3 Stooges, Marilyn Monroe, & many more. Their service was excellent and their food was very good! I recommend giving them a try - you won't be disappointed.

Passed this place many times, so thought I would give it try. Not all it's hyped up to be. Wasn't overly impressed with this restaurant. Had the Philly Cheese sandwich. Way over cooked and could not finish it. Server was dour and unfriendly. I also had a side of mashed potatoes. Taste was good, but too thick and gravy was terrible. I did have the Chocolate Shake, which was good but highly priced @ $6.95. Yes, they have nice memorabilia throughout the restaurant, but I went to EAT not LOOK.
Way neat way cool atmosphere

We walked in and were greeted by nice people who said “seat yourselves anywhere and we will be right with you” so our little family of five sat down and were then approached by a waiter who said we couldn’t not sit there party of fives need to sit elsewhere. Don’t have people sit themselves if you want them seated in certain areas.
As always. Waitress super nice. Food was as good as you get for eggs.

Iconic diner on I 15 near Calico. 3 dining areas and lots of atmosphere. Food and service were great. Wasn't busy when we arrived, but they were packed when we left.

Definitely some of the better food we had during our visit to the USA. The cherry malt shake was the best shake I ever had. Plus the service was fast and friendly.
