On our trip home from Las Vegas to the OC, my wife, daughter and I stopped at Penny’s Diner for lunch. What a fantastic experience!!! The place looked great, a nostalgic look back in time to the 50’s, 60’s diners of old. It reminded me of when I was a kid, I know that makes me ancient! We ordered from a menu with a great selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. My daughter and I ordered the Bacon Lovers Cheeseburger and fries and my wife ordered the Chicken Fried Steak dinner. The food was simply fantastic and that’s an understatement. I admit we were all hungry from the trip, but everything tasted absolutely delicious. My Bacon Cheeseburger was “Big”, like Texas What-A-Burger “Big” and had a load of big healthy bacon strips on it. The hamburger patty was thick and had a wonderful flavor, like it been mixed with something very flavorful. Also, I have to mention the fries… wow, they were crazy good!!! Thicker fries that were golden, crispy and so delicious (I had to order a large take home box). My wife loved her Chicken Fried Steak dinner as well. The steak was huge and was served with scrumptious mashed potatoes and gravy. The side salad was fresh and appealing. This dinner is one of the diner’s specialties, so if you get a chance definitely try it! Finally, the best thing about our experience at Penny’s was meeting our waitress Melanie Griffith and our chef Antonio Banderas. WOW, these two were Fantastic!!! Melanie, her real name is Teresa was so nice, sweet and her service was impeccable… and Antonio (his real name is Eduardo) is a great chef who has a love for cooking and takes pride in everything he makes. Thankfully, we had time to get to know them and develop a friendship that we hope to nurture in the future. Since we travel extensively between the OC and Vegas, I’m sure we will stop at Penny’s Diner at every opportunity. Daniel Suzuki, Retired Senior Master Sergeant, USAF and a Proud Vietnam Veteran. Also, my wife Susan and my daughter Jennifer.

I used to park across the street and come in for lunch or supper whenever I was driving this route as a trucker. Even now, whenecer I'm on the 15 between LA and Vegas, I always stop in.
My recommendations are their chili, their chili burger, and their country fried steak (in breakfast and supper varieties), and you cant go wrong with their mozzeralla sticks, fried pickles or fried mushrooms for an appetizer. You really cant go wrong with any of their options. Whatever you order, i recommend a malt with it.
The service has always been quick and friendly, the facilities are always clean and in good repair (if worn in some places) and the overall atmosphere is a chill place you can slow down, stretch your legs, and enjoy a hot meal.
The price is probably $10-20 per person, and that's if each orders a full meal and a malt. For a few dollars extra you can split an appetizer between two people.
If you're heading that direction, I cant recommend this place enough.

First off ya can only see menu on your cell once ya scan code. Prices was good.Food was ok. Good OJ. But the sugar free syrup was way to thin to liquidy. They only make French toast on one side of bread. The biscuits was good I ask for sausage gravy but there wasn't any sausage in it plus I thought to much pepper in it. It made it kinda hot for me. The waitress was nice.

We stopped in here for lunch on our road trip to Vegas. It was empty when we arrived and we were greeted immediately by a lovely lady. She got us sorted with drinks and the milkshakes here were awesome! With drinks she brought markers and said for us to leave our mark on the wall and asked us where we were from. We had a little chat before placing our orders.
My family had different breakfast options which they all enjoyed. My son loved his pancakes and it was great to know his allergy wasn’t an issue with anything on the menu. I ordered the meatloaf as I wanted to try something more traditional style and it was really nice. I was surprised the veggies was only beans but I got heaps of them so the portions were very large. Onion rings were great and came with a nice sauce and we ordered extra fries to go.
We drew on the wall which the kids loved! All in all a really great experience and ticked a bucket list item of eating at an American diner on a road trip. Thankyou so much for having us. You guys are amazing and definitely added to our trip.
