Food was overpriced and unsatisfying. The jumbo shrimp cocktail cost $24 and it consist of 6 pieces of standard size shrimp laid flat on a plate with a small side dish of cocktail sauce. The $29 short rib melt sandwich was soggy and salty. Only decent thing were their kettle chips. Adult coffee was mediocre.

Parking: Required to do valet parking for $15. The restaurant bar doesn’t validate.

They are not serving food at the bar at this time. Debby was a fun server. She'll get what you need. They should really consider opening at 3:00pm. People arrive early before check in, so it would be nice if they could grab a drink while they wait for their room.

The dining room is spectacular. Unfortunately, the dinner offered was only buffet. Like all buffets for large groups, it was institutional. Average food. But nowhere near what you expect from the Ahwahnee, and certainly not for the price

Outstanding food, service, and ambience. Upscale fine dining. Buffet service allowed us to try everything that would normally be on their menu rather than choosing just one selection.

The ambiance is great . Rustic hunting lodge with large windows that puts the diner right in the center of Yosemite's beauty. The entire food experience though was subpar. The Buffet offerings were all lukewarm to room temperature . The barley soup looked like sludge. The dinner rolls were on the way to being stale and the desserts were already there. I ordered a Manhattan which was very good a, but not included in price. The staff were efficient and friendly. All in all, I would not recommend this place. Way overpriced Go see the beautiful hotel and then go out to another restaurant . You'll be certain to get a better meal at a much cheaper price.

We were really looking forward to our breakfast buffet. Overall, the food was disappointing. At the bagel station, the server told us they were out of bagels and that they do not serve toast. There was nothing to put the cream cheese, salmon and capers on?. The Eggs Benedict was disappointing. The sauce was good but the egg was over cooked. The buttermilk biscuit was hard on the bottom but the chorizo gravy was good. The pastries were stale. No salads and minimal fruit.

Dining at the ahwahnee was a wonderful experience. I highly suggest getting your drinks in the restaurant because the bar is much higher in price. The ambience was fabulous with a piano player. Our waitress was attentive and very kind. I recommend the beef and barley soup along with the prime rib. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

I was so excited to take my daughter and her family to The Ahwahnee dining room at the end of our Yosemite vacation since they'd never been there and it is such a historic and beautiful venue. The ambiance did not disappoint but I can't say as much for anything else during our time having dinner. I hope this time was an anomaly because I have had nicer experiences in the past.

Due to construction, the dining room currently offers buffet style only for breakfast and dinner. The food is delicious. The view is obstructed with scaffolding. The staff was friendly and courteous. However, for the cost of the dinner meal, it will be much more in line with the luxury and beauty of the Ahwahnee to have a formal dinner when construction is finished.

Food quality is not too bad but not worth the price. Dessert is particularly substandard. We have to ask for the soup and coffee even though they are included in the price. Food is not refilled in time so diners often have to wait for what they want. This is definitely not what is expected for the price tag.

Disappointed, at 7:30, many of the entrees were depleted. Prime rib was available if you wanted medium to well done. When an attendant was located regarding replenishing the buffet, we were told it was coming. Salads and vegetable sides arrived fairly quickly, but trout never seemed to arrive. This was for $63 a person.

Loved the beauty of the grand hotel and dining room. There was a live piano player, which added to the special ambiance and we enjoyed the music tremendously. It was undergoing renovation, however, so dinner was a buffet, which was a disappointment. Nancy, our server, was delightful, and she and her assistant did a great job. What brought the whole experience down was that there was virtually nothing left to eat at the buffet when we went up— except for the prime rib and the tri-tip. All the vegetables were gone, the prawns and trout were gone, the salad looked so picked over it was unappetizing. So we got beef. Five minutes later some asparagus and squash came out so we did get something, but it just wasn't the experience to match the room. I will say the prime rib and tri tip, as well as the tomato bisque were outstanding.

Malcome our server was delightful sharing our concern that Tuolumne Meadows horse campground still exists and will be improved sites next year!!! He was personal, helpful and kind. Kudos to him!!!! Art and Carolyn Johnson

Overall this breakfast experience was poor. There was a lot of loud construction sounds while eating. Views are of the back of scaffolding and construction workers. The breakfast buffet was poor. The food was cold, for a breakfast buffet there was no selection. From previous years at the hotel the breakfast buffet had more selections like the banana pudding, waffles, omelet station, toast, cereal. This year for $30 each it was half that and just not great quality. I would recommend going to Yosemite Lodge until construction is completed. Just not worth it since the ambiance is just not as special as it should. Part of the magic is the ambiance. The hotel itself is falling apart - in the grand room the ceiling looks like it's about to collapse. Please bring back the elegance and beauty.
