It use to be excellent we did not go here for a long time we ordered Mongolian beef and egg rolls. Mongolian beef was ok egg rolls was really old and over fried. Basically Nasty. Unfortunately we not going here no more. There must have a different Cook who does not care

To start off I have always gone here as a kid and this was my family’s “it” place to eat. Their sweet n sour pork is my all time favorite too and I hardly ever have any complaints about the food itself.
This last time I ate in, there was a strong mold odor that lingered in the dining area. I was put off by it, but granted that I know it’s an older building-I did let it slide. However, during the same visit, a baby roach came out of the lazy susan and gave me a stare down while I was taking a bite. This ruined my appetite and made me uncomfortable with eating the food.
The family and workers at this place are nice people so I don’t have any complaints for them, and I don’t think I ever will. I just hope they take the time to fully clean out their place and figure out what could be causing the roaches as well as the moldy odors. It may be the building itself or just a cleanliness issue, but it needs to be addressed and fixed.

Went a couple times to this place with the family. The first time I smelled an odd smell while sitting at my table, I assumed it was the cleaning supplies. Coming back the second time, I realized it was dirty bathroom smell in the dining room. While eating the second time, a small cockroach emerged from underneath the turn-table while we were eating our food. I immediately lost what little appetite I still had after noticing the smell. In their old building, where there is one roach there are many, many more. I will not be coming back.

Loved this place years ago. Recently dined in and when handed my to go plate from one of the tables where sitting 2 baby roaches were crawling on plate. Very disappointed and disgusted! I payed for my food we ordered (after the fact we were done eating) but did not tip and had a honest conversation to the host about how unsanitary the place is. We were only checked on once for our drinks while the host sat and ate and talked on her phone! Will not be returning!

Plain and simple you dont get to be in business for 30 years unless you are doing something right. The Chinese Garden restaurant is one of my favorites places in Yuba city. When I lived in Plumas Lake nearly 10 years ago we loved coming to this area because every restaurant had the home made, family owned flavor that you dont get from chain restaurants. Although we are back in Sacramento, we come here whenever we have a chance. Although it wasn't in the menu, our waitress accommodated our request for some Chicken Fried rice, Orange Chicken and soup combo. The soup is simple the best one around, including the Sac are. The mushroom and peas add the perfect touch to the soup. The Orange chicken was fresh and full of flavor. Sadly we have gotten used to the extra sweet flavor of fried rice from places like Panda express, and although the rice here was not over the top sweet, it was tasteful. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming. You have the glass table top covering what looks to be beautiful Chinese designs and the walls also display gorgeous artwork. If you ever happen to be around the area and want to enjoy Chinese food, I highly recommend The Chinese Garden!

So sorry to have to leave this review but this place was absolute trash. The inside smells like mold and mildew. And the food is absolutely disgusting. The orange chicken smelt sooooo bad it smelt like beer that had been left out for weeks. Id give a 0 star if I could.

I used to love coming here, but now the place is so dirty , I can't eat their food. Shrimp not cleaned properly. Needs to be turned into health dept.
Ive eaten here since i was little. The food is still the same! The only difference is the prices! Sometimes im like wow okay maybe this place will be for special occasions haha. But their pork fried rice with their sweet and sour chicken, their delicious egg rolls, their shrimp soup, the chow mein, bomb.

I ordered pork chow mein. The meat was hard and dry. The noddles lacked flavor. It smelt weird inside.
