The new owner has made it more inviting. I've been going for the past 10 years. Love the plate called a Mess and the salsa is the best tasting ever.

"It pains me to share that Cooking Pot, a community icon, has undergone a disappointing transformation under the new owner. The classic dish 'The Mess' suffered from a poor representation – the gravy tasted store-bought, and the hashbrowns were disappointingly undercooked. It's disheartening to witness such a decline in a beloved local establishment."

We stopped by this little hole in the wall, because I love to support small businesses! And I thought it was really good food. my husband wasn't sure about their french fries. But I ate a few wasn't my favorite, but I would eat them. It was really delicious everything else. I don't go to Yuba City very often but when I do, I'm gonna try and stop there again. Sorry I forgot the pictures. I had French toast, their country potatoes in their eggs. My husband just had a hamburger and fries.

Home of "the Mess" a.k.a. biscuits and gravy. Truly a specialty and very worth the hype. Personal favorite is with extra gravy, sausage and an over easy egg on top. Love it!

New ownership has changed the recipes. And unfortunately not for the better. This used to be the spot for the best mess. The country gravy is more of a brown gravy now. Watery, brown and does not taste like country gravy at all. Bring the original Cook n' Pot recipes back.

First time in. I had the Meat Lovers omelet. He had the Denver. Mine was great. The only issues were the veggies were mostly raw, and the potatoes for the hashbrowns were not totally heated through. We ate what we could, no complaints to staff. There was a large group ahead of us, so kudos to the kitchen on getting everything out timely though. Our server had an outstanding personality. Definitely go again. Coffee mugs ready for Valentines Day! Love the wall!❤️

Great comfort food on a wet and rainy day. Service was excellent, coffee was hot and refilled often.

Hidden gem. I asked a local to recommend a good independent diner for breakfast. Cook n' Pot exceeded my expectations. Tucked away at the edge of a residential neighborhood and industrial area, you may think you want the wrong way. Trust the GPS. I had an omelet with country potatoes. Plentiful, tasty, and priced well. Clearly a neighborhood landmark and mainstay.

You have to try a mess.. so yummy. This is great homestyle cooking that grandma would love. Just can’t say enough good things about this scrumptious little secret and once you find it you won’t eat breakfast anywhere else. So friendly a rare jewel that takes you bake to days of the local diner. Thanks everyone I’ll be back!

The food was, let's just say everything tasted the same and it had a weird taste. The muffin was like a hockey puck, I didn't get my milk, and my son had to ask for his biscuits and gravy. Last but not least, my grandson fries and nuggets were cooked way to
