Place has gone way downhill over the last decade. Used to be the best dive bar in Arvada, now they cater to the yuppies. Drinks are way more expensive than they used to be. Customer service is a joke. Final straw for me was when I asked the bartender tonight to turn the tv to the New Year’s Eve celebration and she said “I’m too busy to change the channel.” Two points for that: 1) I’ve worked restaurants for over 12 years and changing the channel takes less than a minute. 2) wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t THE NYE CELEBRATION which is why everyone is there in the first place. She’s definitely new, and is only there to collect tips for opening a bottle of beer. Never thought I’d rate a dive bar this low, but 12 volt is now too fancy/pretentious to cater to their people; such a shame.

Really great dive. Wife and I have been looking for our go-to after settling here from further north on the Front Range, and 12 Volt so far is the most solid dive we have found outside Denver. Not a fratty sports bar, not a place you'll get beat up (as long as you behave, I assume..), just a nice hole in the wall with pool, darts, and good people. Sounds like the negative reviews were just disgruntled Karen's, so don't pay that too much heed. Looking forward to many fun nights here and hope this place continues to keep it real!

12 Volt is an interesting place to say the least. Cheap drinks (although not very good cocktails), pool table, and darts are the upside. Overserved patrons harassing the bartenders and fellow patrons, some of the worst cocktails I've ever had, and some rude bartenders are the downside. If you're looking for a rowdy night out, there are better places to go but if you're not willing to move from the Olde Town Arvada area, 12 Volt is your only option. The cherry on top is the owner who replies to all negative reviews with sass and a “we can do nothing wrong” attitude 👍🏻

Marty Hester doesn’t understand the Constitution or our rights. His knowledge about photography in public spaces is, to say the least, limited. He makes that very clear by exposing his ignorance and poor values on Facebook pages. That alone is reason enough never to support his interests in this business.

Most racist place you can imagine for a black person,first bar in Colorado I attended,and was made clear i was black. As you can see from the terminology that they use like moron it is very clear to see racism bigotry being implemented threw your terminology.. I promise anyone that thinks that I’m lying please attend this bar and do a review before you even walk up to the door. You can feel the racism vibes.(ps ) when he uses the word maroons, he is definitely talking about white people, but the fact that the one black person was in that group gave them such a hard on to be racist that this establishment is not worth going to for anyone who is a real person.

Tipped well. Not being a problem. Sprayed in the face with Febreze and then by water bottle by bartender because wrongfully accused of farting. Admittedly funny on paper, terrible business. Disgruntled bartender was having a bad night. Blonde girl with black glasses and black sweat suit. Keep your problems at home. Was not vaping. That was the person next to me and the bartender knew that.
