True dive bar in the best of ways .
Nothing pretentious and does what it says on the label. Sat at the bar and enjoyed great service and a couple of local beers whilst listening to a great music mix watching the world go by through the open windows.
My kind of place and will definitely return later in the day next time as I’m sure it attracts a lot more local characters .

I give The 12Volt 5 stars as a hole in the wall atmospheric traditional dive bar - full of locals enjoying calm conversations and smoking in the street patio area.
12 Bolt had been here for many decades and twenty or thirty years ago - a real dive. A new owner and a new atmosphere.
Now it’s a thriving lively local bar with plenty of conversations and an IPA or bourbon which I consume before wending down the street on my Trikey Bikey🍷🍺😜

If you have any common sense what so ever, stay clear of this volital place. The energy is down right depressing You will get denied service just for asking for water. The staff are rude and very unfriendly, and just so you know, you will be poisoned if you drink anything from this place. Stay clear. You have been warned.

The bartenders are awesome, especially Sandy

Down and dirty dive bar. It's exactly everything it needs to be.

Was considering this for my night out! I have yet to find a really good dive bar here since I moved here a year ago. After reading how the owner responds to negative reviews and how people are treated here I will gladly stay clear

kinda gay!! more for Subaru driving people

Only went for drinks here. They have darts, a pool table, and some arcade games. If you are looking for a local dive bar to just hang out at and chill, this is the place! I love coming here.

Everything’s a 10, but don’t try to Raygun here cause then you’ll smell like pee 👍

Place has gone way downhill over the last decade. Used to be the best dive bar in Arvada, now they cater to the yuppies. Drinks are way more expensive than they used to be. Customer service is a joke. Final straw for me was when I asked the bartender tonight to turn the tv to the New Year’s Eve celebration and she said “I’m too busy to change the channel.” Two points for that: 1) I’ve worked restaurants for over 12 years and changing the channel takes less than a minute. 2) wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t THE NYE CELEBRATION which is why everyone is there in the first place. She’s definitely new, and is only there to collect tips for opening a bottle of beer. Never thought I’d rate a dive bar this low, but 12 volt is now too fancy/pretentious to cater to their people; such a shame.

Great bar. Stay away if you're looking for a Denver "dive bar" but check it out in you're not a pretentious prick.

Really great dive. Wife and I have been looking for our go-to after settling here from further north on the Front Range, and 12 Volt so far is the most solid dive we have found outside Denver. Not a fratty sports bar, not a place you'll get beat up (as long as you behave, I assume..), just a nice hole in the wall with pool, darts, and good people. Sounds like the negative reviews were just disgruntled Karen's, so don't pay that too much heed. Looking forward to many fun nights here and hope this place continues to keep it real!
