I’ve found Lala’s Bakery not too long after The Market closed after a frantic search to quell my spring fling obsession. I’ve been here many times (maybe 15 to 20 times) to get the iconic spring fling and I’m sad to say I’m disappointed this time. We paid $86.00 dollars for the cake and the cake was much smaller than I normally get….like a whole layer smaller. It’s usually three layers and we only got two. The fruit tasted overripe with some tasting incredibly sour and tart which has never been the case before. The frosting was way too sweet this time and when I ate the frosting by itself it tasted like the frosting was left in an open container in the refrigerator and took on the taste of the rest of the fridge. The cake was not as beautiful as normal the frosting is usually more stiff and the cake is uniform and the sides are smooth. As you can see in the picture it’s like blown out on the sides. Im really sad, I get this cake every year for my birthday and for my sons birthday and unfortunately after this visit I may have to search for a new bakery for my spring fling 😞 it’s too expensive to spend this kind of money and not receive the quality we normally do.

The best birthday surprise!
My friend got me the strawberry cheesecake from this bakery for my birthday, and wow—it was incredible. Super creamy, just the right amount of sweetness, and the graham cracker crust was so good.
The whipped topping with fresh strawberries took it to the next level. I couldn’t even pick a favorite part because every bite was amazing. Definitely recommend—whether you’re celebrating something or just want a treat, this is it.

I ordered the spring fling cake for my sons birthday unfortunately it was very dry. When I arrived l knocked on the front door and was told to go to the back door for pick up. After knocking for about five minutes on the back door an employee opened the door and said my cake would be right out. 25 minutes later a lady came walking down the alley from the other direction with the cake. Disappointing experience overall.

Unfortunately, I was unimpressed with the Spring Fling. Quite dry and tasteless frosting. Over powered with lemon flavor in the cake itself. Over all not what I expected for the price. I was appreciative of the commutation once ordered o line. The location was a bit confusing.

I can’t begin to think about this frosting without a Pavlovian reaction. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about its richness. If me and you were to be eating this frosting, and you asked me how it was, I would say: “It’s terrible. You should give me your portion so I can dispose of it properly.” Fully knowing that it is in fact, not at all terrible. It’s overly delicious and m I would eat it off of questionable surfaces. I would say that tho hoping that you would give me your portion. I want to consume it in quantities of buckets. And it comes in vegan!!! How do they do it?? I digress; it’s delicious is my point.
The lovely people at this bakery are so sweet and always hand me a quality crafted beautiful delicious cake. My mom and grandmother regularly request this cake for birthdays and special occasions. Highly recommended.

I got a spring fling cake, the outside was really nice but the actual bread was super dry and hard to eat, I’m so disappointed since it only had good reviews and for the price I paid, I was expecting something better, I usually don’t complain but the cake didn’t have no moist at all and it was hard to slice it without it falling apart

I ordered the Spring Fling, but it was quite dry and the flavor was disappointing compared to the original Spring Fling from The Market. It's stated that their baker is the same baker from The Market prior to its closure.
I do appreciate the very detailed instructions, but daunting at the same time, on their website but I wish they also include instructions on how to find the bakery or how to reach them. When I showed up to the address, it was so hard to find the bakery since there's no store front and no phone number listed so it was very confusing. There's a TEENY, tiny little sign in the back with their name on it but when I knocked, no one answered. There's no doorbell. I stood out there for about 30 minutes figuring out how to reach them and thought about giving up but then decided to bang on their door really loud until someone answered. I felt very unwelcomed as a customer. The baker was very nice when she greeted me and apologized since she didn't hear the knock but at that point, I was too upset to even take the offer to save their phone number.
