Nasty dryass food Not worth 20 dollars
Will the original Lea Jane’s from Avanti please stand up? What happened? They used to have the best spiciest chicken and fish sandwich. These sandwiches that we ordered barely beat black pepper. Chicken was super tender though. It was decent but disappointing when your hopes were for a spicy sandwich only to get a sandwich my toddler could eat. Service was great and food was good. The reputation with the spiciest chicken sandwich is no longer there.

I got the fish sandwich and my boyfriend had the chicken sandwich. We both really enjoyed them, and the portions were huge! I'd eat here again
Despite all of the bad reviews, we love hot chicken sandwiches, this was convenient, and we decided to give it a shot. My husband got the chicken sandwich, and I got the fish sandwich. We both ordered them hot. They were incredibly bland, the breading slipped off them immediately, my fish was under cooked, and the chicken was poor quality. It was a good night for the dogs, as the sandwiches were not fit for human consumption.
By far the worst chicken I’ve ever had. They only offer spicy “seasoning” no type of ANY hot sauce. The flavor of chicken is bombarded by the half inch breading that you need a knife to cut through. I bet they probably use Sysco chicken GMO opposed to Red Bird farms or some healthy non steroid type of chicken. I’m surprised they are still here from the past years of coming the Freedom street.

My chicken sandwich was huge and not edible to eat. The chicken was also very fatty and dark meat. I was very bummed when i tried to take a bite of this sandwich.

Pretty ballsy to ask for 18% as the MINIMUM tip on a credit card transaction.I obliged and tipped the minimum 18%. the chicken was alright but had a burnt tinge to it (old oil? Temp too hot?). French Fries were good, though.18% tip for counter service and poorly made chicken seems like a scam.Back in my day 15% was for good service at a full service restaurant.18%? For counter service?Nope. Nope. Nope.

Apparently they just make up their own hours day by day. Website and Google says 10pm on Saturday. Showed up at 8:45 and the kid was counting money and said they’re closed.

1000% cross contamination between the catfish and chicken going on here.Got the fish and could taste catfish in every single bite.

Came to try the hot Nashville chicken even though a friend who has been there before didn’t recommend. Paid the up charge for the Mac and cheese. The food looked good. The chicken looked like a good sized piece. The food was hot but there was almost no spice. Looking at the menu I see to the side the heat scale. Would have been nice if the cashier had asked the spice level I wanted. I see Nashville I don’t think I have to ask for it to be hot. Nowhere else have I seen Nashville not meaning hot. Anyway, the toast quickly fell apart from the slaw and oil from the chicken. Would prefer a bun that stands up to the moisture. The Mac and cheese was really good though. Not sure I would try again even knowing I have to request the spicy options.

Wow, what a let down. We first ate here at the holidays, and it was the best chicken sandwich any of us had ever eaten, and the service was friendly and efficient. Today, it was a different place. We arrived at 130 on a Saturday. The cashier took my order and my cash, then told me he had to give me my entire change in quarters. Then, after he shorted me $1.15, he couldn't figure out how to fix it in dimes and nickels. And what happened to the chicken sandwiches? They were ordinary at best. Nearly no flavor in the chicken, and the kimchi was watery and made the toast soggy. It was such a big let down after our last experience. We'll be back to Freedom Hall, but we'll skip the okish chicken.
We followed them to Arvada. Cauliflower is fire. Southern fried anything? Go here
Two months ago I would have rated this place a 5 star. Tonight, I was pretty disappointed: the staff was good, the chicken was good, but the fries. The fries I loved so much the first time were gone. I asked and the person I spoke to said they were transitioning management or something. I really hope the old fries come back, because otherwise it is overpriced for what you get in my humble opinion. I did try the Mac and cheese for the first time and that was good.
I’ve been in love with Lea Jane’s since they’ve been in Denver (Avanti, Zeppelin, & their standalone store). However driving all the way to Arvada is no longer worth it. Idk if they got new cooks or a new recipe but they’re not as damn good as before. Usually not spicy for the “hot” and kinda dry along with the bread being toasted for like 4 seconds. Hopefully they make some changes so I can come back!
