Thank you for bringing back that awesome flavor that Jerry and his family had worked so hard to achieve. When he first sold it we were so disappointed but thank goodness the newest owner worked for Jerry for 29 years. He knows the original recipes and has kept the integrity of the food. A bit pricey but the quantity and quality make it worth it. The queso and the enchiladas in gravy are like no other! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

That guy that goes places

Not sure who these people are that say this food is good. Maybe people who already eat horribly. This food was lame. No spice at all. Not even salt. Tasted like a TV dinner from the dollar store.

The food was good this time. Its a friendly, family owned restaurant. The chil con queso tostadas are good.

Wow 😋 delicious Chile Verde! Loved the #3 Tamale smothered in green chile with beans and rice. Green Chile was outstandingly authentic so good I ordered an extra side of it! The plate was huge and so reasonably priced! Excellent, fast service! Thank you I will be back!

We got 2 smothered burritos and they were sitting in water. The green chile was more like a clear soup than the usual consistency.

I'm sorry, but that was the most atrocious Mexican food we have ever had. The staff was so nice & the service was fast and I feel bad even writing this review but if I could save somebody the hundred dollars we just spent, I'm going to try. The green chili had entirely too much cumin and was so watery. There were large pieces of pork in it, but it was just like pork floating in water with too much cumin. Also, I have never eaten green chili that was made with bell peppers. I would absolutely try any other Mexican restaurant. Everything is so expensive including food so wasting it on a meal like that is just CrAzY! I'm sorry Monterrey House. I'm not trying to be mean or rude just honest.

I traveled from New York to Colorado to celebrate my aunt’s 85th birthday — and to track down some truly good Mexican food. On her recommendation, I visited this place and was blown away by the authenticity and flavor of the meal. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a tamale, and both were outstanding — freshly prepared from scratch with their own ingredients and served piping hot within minutes of sitting down.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner and head waiter, who treated us as if we were their most valued guests. Their hospitality was so
genuine, and the food and service were exceptional.

It’s easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you find yourself anywhere near Denver, this restaurant is an absolute must.

Came to Colorado from Maine to share in my sister’s 85th birthday celebration and to find a decent Mexican restaurant. On her recommendation I had an excellent meal of authentic Mexican food that was absolutely delicious in all respects. My choice was a beef burrito with green chili sauce. It was excellent, all hand cooked with all their own ingredients, and served hot I just minutes from sitting down. We met Freddy, the owner and Nelson, his chief waiter. They made us feel like the most important people in the world while we were dining. I was so impressed with their true hospitality, that I returned the following evening with my son and his family. The same great quality food and service was happily repeated. Definitely the most positive dining experience I have had ever! Absolutely a necessary destination if you are in the Denver area.
