Had a reservation at 7:00 and arrived early, about 6:45. It was a good thing we did because they rushed us and wanted us out shortly after 8:00. We had one large margarita each at $22 each (a bit pricey in my opinion). It was good but that is a lot of money for a drink!Guacamole Hummus was a good appetizer but when we needed a few more chips to finish it, we were charged $2 extra. It was taco Monday, so we got those at $5 each. It was my friend’s birthday so I mentioned that and there was no response. Not even a “happy birthday” greeting let alone a token of something to commemorate it. 20% gratuity added on for two people without a choice. A really expensive meal. The food was good but not a satisfying birthday celebration.
I have been here now 3 times. My first time was amazing but things have obviously changed. The older lady working around 6p on 5/30/2023 was rude as h***. She didn't seem to want to be at work.In addition, I have ordered the same thing each time, the birria tacos. Initially the birria tacos were FULL sized tacos, cooked to perfection with a large side of consome. The last 2 times here, the birria tacos have now moved from a FULL size to a street taco size. Why?
Wow! What a nice surprise! Spent time at hospital for some testing, Left exhausted in pouring rain, needing some good Mexican food. Found this small restaurant nearby. It was not real busy but had few hungry others eating. The limited menu allowed for everything to be prepared perfectly within a reasonable time. The full bar is a bonus! Highly recommend. A little tricky to find but worth the mission!
Smallish menu but plenty of great choices and we certainly had plenty to eat. Poblano enchilada starter, chopped salad, lamb taco and veggie samosa taco were all really good. Salsas were fresh, house made and tasty; just the right amount of heat. Liked that the pineapple jalapeno marg wasn't too sweet. Surprising that it wasn't busier, although it's a new area and still lots of construction.
Food and drinks here are always delicious and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We understand they will be closed for the next 6 to 7 weeks for a revamp but a new location is open in the DTC. Highly recommend
My complete experience was amazing. From start to finish everything was perfect. To start we had the Potato Croquette. I had the Fish Tempura Tacos and she had the Queso Birria Tacos, for dessert we had the fluffiest Caramel Flan ever. The food was amazing, the margaritas were fresh and tasty, the service was second to none. I have no compliants. Give this spot a try, you won't be disappointed.
Parking: Street parking available for free (2 hr limit)
Always a delightful experience. The staff is always friendly and attentive- even when super busy. Fantastic food and drinks with great recommendations. Delightful ambience and decorations.
The manager is great. Her staff never showed up so she was waiting all the tables too. Good service in-spite of staffing issues. This is a great spot if you have to do anything around university hospitals. Parking is easy too. A wonderful outdoor park across the street
This was our last and best meal after a week of travel around the state of Colorado. We are huge Mex fans and both the margaritas and the meals were fantastic. My husband had the house marg, while I tried the pineapple habanero...both were well balanced and absolutely excellent. We ordered the chicken tinga enchiladas and the birra (brisket) tacos and were thrilled with both. Our kudos to the chefs/food prep team. Last but not least, our waiter Doug was spot on with his recommendations and attention to our table. Highly recommend!
Waiter could have been more attentive. Our drinks sat on the bar and weren't delivered until after our appetizer and we had to remind him... previously we visited and a different waiter was fantastic! The bar tender also could have realized the drinks were sitting there and delivered them. The restaurant was not that busy...

I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. The relleno eggrolls were an interesting take on one of my favorite foods, and great for when you're maybe craving rellenos but don't want that to be your entire meal. The Caesar salad was also tasty, nothing special or novel, but definitely an example of how fresh, quality components made from scratch can improve "simple" dishes. The drinks were delicious—no mixers, all fresh-squeezed juices in house. And you can definitely taste the difference. All told, definitely enjoyed Ambli and will be coming back. My only knock is that it's a bit on the pricier side—which, I mean, is understandable given the ingredients they use and so forth. Just means that unfortunately I wouldn't be able to patronize them for random weekday lunch, more of a nice evening out with friends.Bonus: They have an employee tip pooling policy. That's pretty neat.Tip: Check them out during happy hour for smaller (read: less expensive) portions so you can try lots of different things! And several cheap margaritas!
Vegetarian options: At _least_ half the menu is vegetarian from the get-go. Several more of the options are fish, and then a few more have "substitute portobello"-type options.Dunno about vegan though... seems like almost everything but the margaritas has cheese in it ?
Kid-friendliness: Eh, not so much
Wheelchair accessibility: Has easily openable double doors. Inside is spacious enough to maneuver; even though it was fairly empty when I visited right after opening, it doesn't seem like it'd be a problem when more heavily occupied. There are tables you can pull a chair straight up to. Also, you can directly access the outdoor patio without going through the whole restaurant.
OMG!!! Been wanting to try Ambli for a while now and so glad we finally made it. Service is impeccable and the food/drinks are outstanding. You can tell the staff in the kitchen and behind the bar really take pride in the product they put out. Handmade tortillas, traditionally marinated meat, salsa with just the right amount of heat and well balanced margaritas made with the freshest ingredients. Honestly, if you're looking for a spot that makes you feel like you're eating in Mexico, Ambli is your place.
I can’t describe how much I love the unique egg rolls. The one big nacho chip with toppings however leaves room for improvement. This place has beautiful menus and overall is really pretty inside. The bar tenders and servers were friendly.
Food and drinks were great! Staff was welcoming. Oddly not too busy during lunch time. The restrooms are super clean and smell good.
I had a fabulous Happy Hour meal at Ambli after landing in Denver too hungry to wait for dinner. I was staying at the Hyatt in Aurora close to the UC Medical Center campus & visited Ambli based on the convenient location and the reviews. I had a wonderful time there. The Spicy Pineapple Habanero Margarita was one of the best margaritas I've ever had, with a not-too-sweet fresh pineapple and spicy pepper taste. All the Happy Hour tapas-sized dishes were delicious. I loved the asian-Mexican fusion in the relleno eggrolls. Service was excellent--friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed sitting on the shady patio, but the interior was also inviting. I look forward to returning.
