Chongqing chicken is great. I asked for more numbing/peppercorn and they 200% delivered. Absolutely a favorite now

I got chicken lo mein and sesame chicken to go. It was really good. Sometimes lo mein is greasy but not here. Next time I'm asking for more spice in the sesame chicken but that did not detract from the great flavor. I will be back

We really enjoyed the takeout we ordered from Chef Liu’s Kitchen tonight, especially the Chicken with Yu Shang Sauce. My wife loved the Fried Rice with Chicken. Rich, complex flavors but not overbearing — just right. We're delighted to find this restaurant—and we’ll be back soon!

Great lunch specials with generous portions. We got Kung Pao Chicken and Spicy Pepper Beef. For $2 you can add hot & sour soup which was great. The Beef was amongst the best I've had. Chicken was really good, but would try something different next time.

This place is premium. Chef Liu had a previous location on Alameda/Chambers years ago and they relocated just recently. Mr. Liu is the owner and chef, which only equates to food that has to be perfect, to standards, your name. This is very authentic and original Chinese cuisine. My father, who was born in north-eastern China, was delighted with the beautiful resurgence of Chef Liu. Best chinese meal we've had, although HKS (Hong Kong Station) is also excellent. Both spots, servers are so accommodating, warm and excellent.
We got the fish filet with pickled mustard greens... garlic eggplant, string beans with minced pork and twiced cook pork belly. Everything was perfect, wow, as a chef myself. Just amazing. Portions are proper, flavors are more savory... not loaded with sugar like many Chinese spots. Every dish is perfectly balanced, every time. Ten out of ten... a true hidden gem. A talented and original chef deserves recognition and reward.

This is the third time I have been here. It is SOOOOOO good! There is a reason that there are so many five star reviews. Also, I have been reading the other reviews, may want to take them with a grain of salt. A few of them stated that the service was bad. No it isn’t. I am calling BS on that. I have been waited on by the same one person every time I have been in. She is really sweet. Her Dad is normally at the Wok. I have only ever seen 2 people, so being a small shop can affect speed.
Also a few of the one star reviews look like they might be a nearby competitor engaging in a really cutthroat practice of trying to run out a new restaurant that gives legitimate competition. At least that is how they read to me.
Don’t be super hangry. Come with friends you enjoy passing the time with! Voila! No service issue.
Today I tried two selections from the chefs menu.
The Sliced Beef Combination in Chili Sauce and the Vegetable Delight. And I got a stand by favorite: Stir Fryed Pea Sprouts in.
Let’s start with the Sliced Beef. It is a little difficult to explain Sichuan Peppercorns if you have never had them. Probably one of the most accurate descriptions I have heard to date is that it is akin to ‘addictive battery acid’. This is a food you experience! The flavors play in your mouth like a symphony while the peppercorns deliver depth and surprise like symbols crashing together at that exact right moment! And the peppercorns aren’t overdone, they give just enough to excite your palate and make you want more.
In stark contrast the Vegetable Delight is well seasoned al dente vegetables that just taste like home. This is not a boring standard mix either! We have King Oyster Mushroom, Broccoli, Bell Peppers, Wood Ear Mushrooms (a.k.a. Black Fungus), Asparagus, and my personal favorite: Lotus Roots. And that green vegetable you can’t quite put your finger on to identify is Achoy Root! A new favorite veggie! This is a light, bright well executed dish that is very soft on the palate after all the excitement of the sichuan peppercorns.
The third dish I had today is the Pea Sprouts in garlic sauce. This is a humble green. Also done very well. You know the kids that don’t like peas? That was never me. I have always loved peas! I would eat other kids peas that they didn’t want. Imagine my delight upon discovering Stir Fryed Pea Greens! So good! 😊
They’re Light, slightly crisp full bodied greens that give a satisfying chew! Pass the Pea Greens, please!!!!!!
Chef Liu has only been here a few months and I am so glad they’re here! The owners seem super nice too! It matters who cooks your food and the energy they impart to the work they do. This place is so clean energetically, iykyk.
Looking forward to over ordering and having leftovers for later for years to come!!!!

Just tried this restaurant tonight and it's our new favorite for Chinese. Everything was delicious and definitely recommend the green beans and garlic eggplant. The staff was attentive and very accommodating of our requests to make spicy dishes not spicy. This place is a gem!

Wonderful food. Had their veggie delight, sesame chicken, and Szechuan green beans. Heavenly. The heat is conservative so if you want mild you may still be able to do their 1 chili symbol on the menu. Didn't try the 2 or 3 symbols yet but will update this review when I do. The owner greeted us and took the order. She is busy but very attentive and can recommend well.

Fantastic food, decent prices, and giant portions! My only complaint is they serve soft drinks by the can, so no free refills. But honestly the food is worth it, 10/10 amazing food

Stopped in for lunch and was warmly welcomed by Ning! We got the Beef Tendon Braised with King Oyster Mushroom (杏鲍菇烧牛筋) and Mapo Tofu (麻婆豆腐) — both were delicious and tasted truly authentic. Totally worth driving out if you’re craving real Chinese food!

We ordered one appetizer and three entrées, with the total bill around $74. The portions were very generous — enough for the two of us to take leftovers home and enjoy another meal!
The food tasted great, everything was well-seasoned and freshly made. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the service was friendly.
Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely come back again. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious Chinese food with great value!
