Every once in a while you have that bad dining experience--this was it! ChowSun is allegedly a Thai-Filipino Restaurant that boasts a huge menu but was "out" of almost everything we wanted to sample--even after I called ahead to ascertain if listed items on the menu were indeed available!!!
Of what was available this restaurant seemed to SPECIALIZE in FLAVORLESS UNSEASONED/UNSALTED fried fish dishes, BLAH pancit dishes, STALE RUBBERY shrimp, and other culinary atrocities. So if that's your taste palette THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!
Thai and Filipino culture bearers would be horrified to know their culinary wealth was being defamed in this manner.
If you've enjoyed home cooked Filipino dishes from culture bearers then I'd say visit the Asian Market next door which is stocked to the brim with pork & chicken longanisas (unavailable at ChowSun) plus all the assorted lumpia that looked exactly like that served at the restaurant (?) and cook it up yourself. Honestly, if as it seems, they're already getting lumpia (egg rolls) and dumplings from the this market why couldn't they obtain longanisas to serve guests instead of saying that they were "out."
**For excellent fried pompano salted and seasoned with a splash of soy sauce and chives, visit any Korean market in Las Vegas and you'll dine like royalty paying $10 total versus the rubbish we shoved down our throats to avoid leaving this sham of a restaurant to find a better one.
PS On our way out, we learned that this restaurant is closing (thank goodness) and soon to be under new management. đMay the new establishment consult a better recipe book or put some effort into authentic representations of Filipino & Thai food or find another vocationđ

The food was rubbery, the chicken and meat had no flavor. The glass noodles were too hard to eat if thatâs even a possible thing. Unfortunately the food was terrible. The service was good. I had to put 1 star for the food otherwise it wouldâve been -5 stars. Highly unrecommend, we had to use a knife to cut the noodles.

We ordered lumpia, kare kare, green curry, sinigang, and turon. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. The only thing is that their website says they close at 8 but they actually close at 7:30 (on their door). The staff was gracious and let us stay and eat until we left at 8:30.

Sad to say under cooked orange chicken. Still pink. BBQ cooked day before. Serve cold. But the service was good. Wished I got the older gentlemanâs name. Mike Money warned me about the food being cold it looks like they just buy it from Lotus next-door and heat it up.

Really good family restaurant!! A very nice, and sometimes surprising array of Filipino and Thai dishes. Definitely one of our favorites!! Nearly impossible to find Filipino food around the Denver area.
