Great service and atmosphere! The food was very good and not your typical Mexican fare. It seemed elevated with interesting sauces. The green chili sauce was excellent. I liked that they have daily lunch specials and I will dine here again.

Best Mexican food in Colorado
An original Aurora restaurant!! Love the food and the family owned business.
From the moment we walked in the service was great, extremely friendly staff, food was delicious, we are from AZ and enjoyed everything about this place desert was AWESOME too!!!
It was very quiet they had music playing. I sat at the bar, then empty restaurant it fills up in the late hours and the night, though I was able to get a beer while I was there the food like I said was excellent and it was very quiet, quaint, and I enjoyed myself while I was there
Really good food!!!

Must try the relleno smothered green ..the enchiladas con Chorizo and a bean burrito with
Lettuce Cheese and those homemade tortillas !
I have never ate at the most nastiest restaurant! I got the Fiesta Combo and it had watery meat in my taco no chesse when bit into i have never had bland meat like that in my life. The tostada had can refried beans on it with lettuce and a pinch of chesse. No salsa or chips come with the meals either. I will never go back and it's a waste of money 15.35.
I ordered the smothered 3 burritos w with green chili and it was a watery green chili , you could tell they microwaved it all . It was soo nasty that I didn't eat but a bite and they wouldn't take anything off the bill !!!
Shout out to earlier review— single-use plastics are garbage that is filling our lands, our oceans and now plastics are found in our blood streams and our guts .. you can’t really justify using all that plastic just to keep the green chile out of the rice??
I recently went to La Cueva. I have been going to La Cueva for over 30 years and it is by far and away my favorite Mexican restaurant in Denver and for that matter any Mexican restaurant I have ever eaten at and I have eaten at plenty. Growing up in East Los Angeles the staples in my house were tacos, quesadillas, rellenos, gorditos and menudo. Their menu is extensive but you will not go wrong with the chili relleno plate. Flavors galore and the right amount of heat. My mouth waters writing about it. This is family owned restaurant with propriety recipes that you will find no where else. Highly recommend you visit this landmark restaurant.
