Mt. Fuji Sushi & Hibachi (Aurora)

My absolute favorite spot to eat.

A bit pricey but oh so good.

They have revolving Japanese Chefs cooking your hibachi dinner, so more authentic than the Mexican chefs at Benihannas.

The stars are given for the service and food. Food and service were equally great. We had hibachi with a small group and the waiter and chef made it an awesome experience. Giving 3 stars due to the manager “Bob”. We finished dinner and paid our tab, but once the ran card came back, there was an error noted in the charge (we were charged almost double what our tab originally was). Noticing the mistake, we went up front to try and correct it. Keep in mind, we really weren’t that upset about the error, mistakes happen and I figured that we would get it taken care of. The young gentleman that was our waiter immediately noted the mistake and asked “Bob” (assuming the manager) to help him correct the mistake. The waiter was very apologetic and ensured that he would make it right. Bob came over and immediately degraded and belittled this waiter in front of our entire group. There was a lack of professionalism and respect for the employee stating that it was a “stupid mistake” and that “he shouldn’t make stupid mistakes like this”. I understand that accountability must be had, but not like this in front of other customers. It was embarrassing for management and had us questioning on returning only due to how the employees were treated in this moment.

Not bad. Our chef wasn’t that great compared to the ones around us.

Always a good time and good food around the Hibachi table. I go for a steak and calamari combo. Wonderful. Add some sake and maybe a sushi starter and it is already too much food. But really good. Table chefs are good at entertaining whilst cooking. Only downside is the acoustics are terrible. Can't hear beyond the person sitting next to you. Wish they'd fix that.

A friend invited me out to lunch, and I was thrilled to go because the way I have to eat makes it difficult to eat out. I can eat steamed rice, vegetables and very lean meat. So going to Mount Fuji seemed perfect. I have a disease that prevents me from eating fats. I got the hibachi chef's attention right away and ask him not to put any fat on my food, especially out of that big tub of margarine. I asked him twice and said please. Hey signified he heard me. So as he was grilling the food, he took a huge shovel of margarine and threw it all over the vegetables and my shrimp. Luckily my friend didn't notice. So I ate one piece of shrimp a little vegetables and rice. What I ate was delicious, but I knew it would make me sick from all the fat so I couldn't eat it. Now I will have to throw away the rest of it after my friend was trying to treat me to a nice lunch. This is far from acceptable and was completely unnecessary. If they won't listen to your dietary needs, I will certainly never go back there.

Food was mid tier and pricey. Portions were small compared to other hibachi restaurants, at least for table service. Service was fine, appetizers and entrees were out quickly.

Disappointing accommodations for vegan options, only the basic veg rolls (no tempura, no miso…). played country music the whole time. food itself was good otherwise with solid tasting ingredients and service was very friendly with a woman who had worked for the previous owners. Also took forever to be served as they didnt have many on staff, even though we were the only party not in hibachi. the presentation was lovely, just wish they didnt mix the veggies and fish.

This place is disgustingly dirty. Just look around? Look up and look at the walls. Look at the ceiling area. There is food all over the ground. The buss station is gross. The entire time I was there I was thinking if it’s this bad where customers can see, how bad must it be in the back where the food is prepared. I’ll never go back.

Usually, sushi places can be hit or miss with their variety, but this one was all hits! We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend!
