REVISING REVIEW AS OF July 2025: I am dropping the review to three stars because they chose to get rid of my favorite donut, the chocolate glazed. This was the best thing about Shipleys and since it remains on the menu at other locations, I can only assume it was a decision by this franchise location to no longer carry it. It is no longer worth it to make the 30 minute drive. Very disappointed.
Original Review I’ve loved Shipleys since college (back in TX). This is the only location close to me anymore. Ever since it opened it’s been nothing but excellent. I had a bad experience at the one in Lubbock over Christmas and when I came back to this one, it renewed my faith in it again!

They have a sign that says any donut any kolache for $4. My wife and I both ordered a donut and a kolache and it was over $12. When we asked about it. The young man at the counter said it was hard to explain how the deal worked. We then asked to see a manager. The manager came out, refunded our money and then told us that it wasn't any donut. It was only regular donuts not specialty donuts. I was confused because the sign says any donut any kolachee. I feel this is a deceptive advertisement. And was not happy. However, the manager did give us the apple fritter and kolache for $4.

Came to the drive thru window at 7:15am to order 24 kolaches. Asked for my receipt and thought my order was very clear. Never was given a total cost and after handing me the box still no receipt. So the guy dug through to locate the receipt and just before leaving I realized I was only charged for 13 kolaches so I went back through the drive thru and he explained they didn’t have enough to fulfill the order. So instead of just telling me upfront he just gave me less. Ordered donuts to make up for the order, paid for them and asked for my receipt. He threw it away. Untrustworthy and bad service, very disappointing.

Bobie and Sam were amazing! Great customer service and very friendly! The cold coffee machine was down so Bobie “innovated” an iced coffee for me that ended up being delicious! Keep up the excellent work Bobie and Sam!

Being from Houston and Shipleys being my 1st ever job, many years ago, I enjoy going to pick up doughnuts and kolaches (the best) for my family. I had a great experience with Sam at the counter today. I highly recommend this doughnut shop

I'm a dunce and did not see the order box. Blew right past it and sat at the window.
The person working didn't miss a beat, took my order, was super positive, and got everything moving! Driving away, I saw a car at the order box, and laughed at myself and debated driving back to apologize 🤣. So thank you, whoever was working at 820 this morning to help my groggy self order some donuts for me and my coworkers

Maryhannah was so helpful and answered any questions that I had! As a manager myself she should definitely be promoted to one her personality and energy warms the atmosphere! I’ll definitely be back thanks to her!! Also please add gluten free options if possible!

I have been eating Shipley kolachies since I was a kid so anytime I’m in the area I make a stop by. The last several times I’m told you’re out of regular and only have the bold. That was fine a time or two but it’s each time now and just seems like a scam. If you’re out of the regular ones then offer the bold for at least a discount while more are cooking. Not sure if it’s a staffing issue or what but in my years of getting these in Colorado or Texas they have never been out but your location this just seems to be the norm.
I usually go a little later in the day to get donuts 🍩. They hardly ever have my favorite chocolate walnuts. I love how the donut are covered in walnuts. Last night I decided to put in an order for pickup at 5:15 a.m. Because my daughter wanted some and i decided to surprise her for when she wakes up. I got there at about 5:30 a.m. my order wasn't ready. OK, fine. No big deal. I thought the donuts were already at least made. Nope! I got home and opened the box only to get this horrible presentation to give my daughter 😒. Them walnuts ones were not what I was expecting 😒. Nor the in a hurry sloppyness. Usually the donut is almost COVERED with walnuts! Like dipped in it. I ain't ever seen them like this before. Barely anything! It's literally a drive to this place for me. Then back. 😒. Imagine going out of your way to get your favorite donuts 🍩 to only come back home to this mess? I get it... they're still eatable. BUT... I was expecting my donuts to be on time, LOOK exactly what I was expecting, and have a better presentation. Just as if I went later in the day to pick them out. This is what I should have waited to tip... I tipped when I ordered. 🤦♀️ For some reason I can't post a picture with this review. I will keep trying. Because you have to see to know what I'm talking about... you probably would agree with me.

Just stopped by since im new to the area and was craving donuts. Never heard of a kolache so i was excited to try it out. I ordered 3 kolaches, 2 donuts, and two drinks. When I got to the window to pay, the cashier repeatedly asked for my order, not a problem if my order had come out correctly. When I got my food, I assumed everything would be right and left home. After having a chance to look at my order, I realized I received 5 donuts and no kolaches. Nothing wrong with free food but I was mainly going for the kolaches and didn’t get them. I was even more surprised to see on my receipt I was only charged for my drinks. After being asked multiple times, I am at a loss for words how badly my order was messed up. Since this is my first impression of the establishment, it seems like they are fine with giving products away for free and don’t correctly give out products for orders.
