The lady who served us was extremely rude. When she was taking orders, she was very stern. She even said she had to go to some other table. When I asked to repeat the order, she got annoyed. The avocado toast I ordered was tasteless. There was too much arugula loaded on it.Overall, very bad experience!

If you're looking for the Urban Egg, keep looking. This is a homestyle cooking joint. We go for breakfast. It's what they do best. 1 order of breakfast can feed 2 people easy. We got a Panini today. The pesto mayo is bomb. The chicken noodle soup was made with love. The fries crispy and delicious. Really couldnt complain. We were able to split it. Places like Rosie's Diner can't compare to what you get here. I saw a few negative reviews on wait time, being ignored and low quality fajitas... you don't get fajitas from here! Go to Casa Mariachi. What's wrong with you? The owners definitely need to condense the menu, but they are trying to please all the complainers. As far as being ignored... it's a great lesson on speaking up! If after 15 mins, you haven't been checked on, any time after that is on you for sitting there quiet like a fool. It's 2023, this place is great, not fine dining, but it will fill your belly and not break the bank. This place doesn't belong in snoby southlands!

We never got as far as ordering breakfast today, didn’t even get water. The host seated us in the bar area at a small table for two next to a kitchen entrance. After several minutes we moved ourselves to a larger table a few booths down. Another group was seated next to our table and ordered almost immediately. Their waiter did not even acknowledge our existence. When asked where our waiter was he stated there was no one for the table. We had a great breakfast here several months ago and attention was smothering. Obviously this was because of your grand opening.Needless to say will never be back!

Ordered breakfast with my sister. Had the Sweet Basil Best Crepes, they were good but were lacking in the delicious Berry sauce they really needed more. Also the bananas were over ripe, which I dont care for. The serving was huge we could have split it. Service was great.

We love sweet basil cafe for breakfast, we have had lunch just a few times and it was good. The greatest thing about going there is our favorite server, Rose! She is always attentive and makes everything just the way it needs to be! We have taken our children and grandchildren there as well, the only negative I can say is the seating area can be tight and their plates are huge for the size of the table sometimes! Lots of food !

When our usual place had too long a wait we jumped across E470 and went to Sweet Basil Cafe. Its broad menu was reminiscent of the Greek Family restaurants that we appreciate in the Chicago area. We were seated very quickly and greeted by Kari our server who was attentive through out our visit. When I presented 3 breakfast options for myself she responded with out hesitation regarding the Gyros Scramble as being the best of the three. Ironic as that was actually my last choice, but she was right. It was totally awesome. While the Gyros was most likely not cut off the spit, it was good along with the tzatziki sauce, but the feta was outstanding without the typical over bearing taste. The pancakes were the size of man hole cover and cooked to perfection. It is more expensive than the typical breakfast sit down place but worth every dime. I now have a new favorite go to Bfast place. Always ask for to go box at the start as if you don’t you will find yourself over indulging and leaving with nothing but good memories.

This, is was my first time dinning at Sweet Basil Cafe. I really like the restaurant. Good atmosphere, very good food, and good service. The only reason for the 4 star on service was the waitress mixed up the order; just a little. All in all, this restaurant is very good.Their menu is extensive, and a lot of variety.I would strongly recommend Sweet Basil Cafe to anyone and everyone.Thank you

You need to go with a big appetite the portions are large and the price are reasonable. The place is always clean and the service is great. The food is good. It's not fantastic but satisfying.

I was all primed to create this amazing review on my food experience at Sweet Basil, but my accumulated experience with the staff this morning and yesterday have changed my mind on that. Hands down, the food was good, but from having to wander around the restaurant to find my group, to the waiter walking away from my table and ignoring me after I asked him for another to-go container while he was giving us the receipt, has me a bit bothered. What sealed the deal for me, was the next day (I worked an overnight shift and I went home to sleep), I realized my pancakes were missing from my order and that I never recieved them, and I called the cafe. I was told first that pancakes did not come with the order, then I was told by another person that because of scammers and that it was the next day, a refunded amount for pancakes would not be possible. I asked about delivering the pancakes to me, but I was told that because of licensing, delivery was not possible. The only option she gave me was to drive back to Aurora, a thirty minute drive for me, and get a free cake, not my pancakes. Yeah, I'm ok. There are other restaurants closer to me, like IHOP, and I had better service and breakfast food at Le Peep. This extra effort is not worth the hassle for a breakfast side.

I ordered the barbecue sandwich, which came with a bowl of soup and onion rings. The onion rings were so greasy that when I picked one up. the oil just dripped onto the plate. The meat in the sandwich was so dry and stringy I couldn’t eat more than three bites. When I asked for the manager I was told she wasn’t in. I’ve eaten here several times before, and it was wonderful. I don’t know what’s changed, but I won’t be back.

Great atmosphere, professional service, and delicious food. I think the food is a tad expensive but worth it. I would've taken more pictures of my chicken fried steak but it was gone as soon as it was delivered. They serve bfast and lunch all day long. Their coffee is refreshing. Very roomy too. I don't have to worry about accidentally bumping into others. We tried both dining in and take out. Dining inn experience was way better.

Crazy menu! All our food was good, but my French fries were the best I've ever had, and I've had some really good fries in my day. OH mah-gosh. Golden crispy on the outside and pillowy deliciousness on the inside. I was totally surprised by a cup of Creamed Spinach soup. Seriously. I scarfed that down like a puppy. Just try it, man!
